Willie, front declawed 9 year-old male surrendered to the Bergen County Animal Shelter a few months ago was pulled yesterday and in a wonderful home today. I don’t remember where I saw the post, but whoever alerted me, he’s in now in a forever loving home! Thank you for posting him! 🐾💝

Haze, male and Rosey, female are great 1-year old cats. They are friendly, playful, good with other cats and need a family who will love and care for them. Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and healthy. They will come with litter boxes, toys and a cat tree.

“Dear fellow rescuers, a box of newborn kittens have been dumped in front of a friend’s home and he cannot bottle feed due to his employment responsibilities. They nurse around the clock, every two hours until 4-weeks old and can be weaned.
Please help if you can bottle feed or have a nursing mother! Daily calls from people with unwanted kittens is just too much for one person to handle…I am desperate.”

Hard luck cat…can 3 times be his last?
Oliver was abandoned with his 3 brothers a year ago Christmastime from a young owner who had 6 cats. All went into our rescue, were provided with medical and placed into foster care. Oliver was adopted by a woman who had another cat and a dog. Oliver had a new best friend and quickly bonded with him. In January, the woman surrendered Oliver because she was moving to a building that had a two pet limit. Uprooted again, Oliver sadly was placed in a foster home without another cat. His only pet companion is an older dog. Oliver sadly looks out the window all the time, likely looking for a familiar feline face. If you can adopt Oliver and give him a loving home with another cat, it would make his story a happy ending. 🐾❤️🩹 He is 3 years old, neutered, fully vaccinated, feline aids negative and no health issues except a broken heart 💔

Seaver was found dangerously close to a main road near the GWB in Ft Lee by Rebecca G. Wilson a volunteer and good friend. One more day he would have likely been roadkill 🥺. Knowing the danger this 12-week old kitten was in, she pulled her car over and scooped him up. In another place in Bergen County, Tiny Tim was abandoned with his mama and two brothers, all terribly underweight but very sweet and friendly. To put this into perspective, mama was the same size and weight as her 3 pound kittens, who were 4-5 months old! After we neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested, and completed medical the family of 4, placement was found. Mama Keira was adopted by a loving home in Maywood, and the two boys were adopted by a lovely family in Englewood. Tiny Tim (Timmy) was placed in foster care with Seaver who was painfully shy. It was a good pairing because Timmy was very outgoing and taught Seaver that our select fosters weren’t scary. They’ve been companions and in foster care for many months just waiting for a home to call their own. It would be wonderful if this inseparable duo found a home together. 💖 They are both playful and loving, neutered, vaccinated, litter trained and healthy. 10-months-old. Fostered in North Bergen, NJ

New Milford - a stray. It’s difficult to look at. A video was sent to me by a resident of an apartment complex. The footage was proof the cat was in bad shape. Without treatment, certainly would die of an infection. I can always say, “no” like all of the other rescues who were reached. Or not answer my phone, like some of the others but my heart sank. Thankfully a veterinarian who would help and give us a break! Dr Rivero is a saint 😇. We texted the same evening after I received the video and plea for help. I sent her the video. If animal control was called, death sentence without attempt of medical treatment. Shelters have limited funding. So many animals, which is why rescues are necessary. Dr Rivero offered support. I brought a trap to the location after work the next day. The grounds keeper was on board, set the trap, covered the trap and monitored it. Transport was set. Amputation performed and recovering. Cancer. Praying the kitty can heal. 🙏🏻❤️🩹🙏🏻❤️🩹.🐾❤️🩹
For now, we will not be holding adoption events for 1-2 weeks until we sort the situation out.
We are deeply saddened by the tragedy surrounding Angels for Animal Network dog division. The animal sanctuary maintained by president Gizela has been found keeping a large number of dogs in a home still under renovation/construction. Please know that the cat division has always been separate and maintained since my stepping into the role in 2022 when Gizela, a former neighbor of mine asked me to head the cat division, one which is a blessing because imagine what if she tried to have both dogs and cats. But as all of the volunteers of the cat division we had nothing to do with the dog rescue. It comes as a shock to all of us what has transpired. We read news outlets too, we see videos and they don’t look good, but there are always other sides. We are truly torn and saddened by the details being uncovered. Hoarding or housing many animals is a real mental disorder and for those collecting animals, they truly cannot see and are in complete denial; they need help because they start out truly doing “good work.” I’m posting an article from a psychology source about it. It’s a short but good read to help us make sense out of “senseless” behavior. We strive to care for our cats in the kindest and most humane manner. We know our cats are well taken care of by kind fosters who at hearing the news must be wrought with shock and sadness too. We hope you all find it in your hearts and minds to think of us for what we have done and not what we are associated with and continue to be involved. We care deeply about the animals, and we care about you. We will pause until all of this gets figured out.

Angels for Animals Network - Groundhog’s Day
This morning, Rita was found starving to death in a locked boiler room of an old building in Cliffside Park that is only opened when in need of repair. She likely tried to find warmth during these frigid cold months, not realizing she’d have no food, water or visitors. She had to be there alone for weeks. Barely alive, she was placed into the only thing the repairman could find, a nearby birdcage for transport to our vet. Weighing only 4 lbs, this older adult kitty (exact age unknown), is in critical care will to live…crying all the way during the car ride. She cannot keep food down yet due to her shrunken stomach, she is being given fluids intravenously (subcue is not going to help her dehydration). She needs at least two days at the animal hospital and luckily her tests show no organ damage. We desperately need funding to help her. The initial bill for intake and today is close to $700.
