Please, won't you consider donating???
Urgent Situation!
Richmond County Animal Shelter is drowning in dogs. There are dogs in every kennel and most kennels have multiple dogs in them. We, like most reputable rescues in the area, are overloaded and have no room to take in any dogs right now. But we can’t just turn our backs on these babies. We also can’t sleep peacefully at night knowing many of these dogs will not make it out of the shelter alive without our help.
We are working with multiple Northern rescues to save as many of these babies as possible. There are presently approximately 50 dogs that need rescue immediately. We have rescues up North prepared to take them in. However, there is a series of vetting requirements that need to be met in order for the dogs to go on transport and cross state lines. Each dog has to be dewormed, have a clear f***l exam, have a heartworm test, get a DA2PP vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordatella vaccine, and see a vet for an exam and health certificate. For each dog we are able to put on transport, we will incur a minimum of $75 in bills.
As a small, local rescue, we struggle on a daily basis to stay afloat and maintain the finances just to cover vet bills for our own rescue dogs. To take on a task as great as this is far beyond our financial means. We are begging for help from all of you. We need to raise a minimum of $4,500 to be able to cover the cost of getting 50 dogs out of the shelter and to the safety of rescue. We are starting this fundraiser in the hopes of raising enough to get every possible dog/cat we can out of the shelter. Any donation will be appreciated beyond measure; no amount is too small. If you would like to sponsor the entire vetting cost for one or more dogs, the cost is $75 per dog.
Please help us save these babies! Many shelters have amazing resource networks that keep them in great shape. Our county shelter doesn’t have that. We are all they have.
