Nacho is not working too hard at the winery today. He was also not worried about the rumbles we are having....a major thunderstorm is headed our way. He is my boy. I love him so much. He does everything with me. I am so lucky to have him.

My boy Oliver, tonight. I love him so much. When I say, "Time to go to bed!", he trots up to bed with me each night. This is where I groom him each night. A long haired cat needs daily grooming. Coming off of a trip we have more work to do.

Good to be back from my trip and enjoy my time with Nacho again. We did a nice walk, he flew in our plane with his aeronical hearing protectors and he loved the turtle toy from my trip.

Here’s some really good info from the Cornell Riney Canine Health Center:

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.

With that in mind, here is a helpful FAQ relating to your canine friends and the upcoming eclipse.

Q: Do dogs actually need to wear eclipse glasses?
A: Dogs will not stare at the sun, and though Speck (pictured) likes to model them, it is not necessary for your dog to wear glasses.

Q: Can the eclipse harm dogs?
A: Your dog can safely be outside with you. They are much more likely to look at you than the sun, but they might look up briefly if they were to see a bird fly by.

Q: Will dogs act differently during the eclipse?
A: Most dogs will not exhibit dramatic changes in behavior, but they might act like it is bedtime. Some dogs may act confused or anxious.

Q: What should I do for my dog during the eclipse?
A: It is probably best to avoid both large crowds and leaving your dog in a car unattended. Keep your dog safe on a leash or indoors in a space where they feel comfortable. It is always a good idea to have your dog identified with an ID tag and/or a microchip in case they were to wander.

Such an amazing day as we traveled today on our cataram. We saw amazing people doing what we could not do. ..right now... and we got to snorcle around. I saw lots of fish and coral.

We had an amazing dinner of a wonderful salad, salmon and mashed pitotatos with an apple crisp tonight.All made from scratch. Conner is a wonderful chef.

Conner also raises and lowers the ancho . As Petey, our Captain, muscles us on. .Conner also raisers and lowers the sails and the anchoI and commiunicates with our captain. They are both so friendly and amazing.

We have 2 crew, Petey who is the captain and Conner., a great chef. They are a great team and help with everything from setting table, lowering the dingy, getting us wine, making coffee or doing a wonderful island drink for us to enjoy. We are so lucky

Nacho seemed to have a Petit Mal seizure yesterday. He was still, stiff and staring. I could not get him to lick me or acknowledge me. I just held him and talked with him. After he began to come out of it, I gently put him on to the floor. He then walked behind the chairs to hide, which he has never done. I called the vet. They sent us to Emergency at Cornell as his seizure lasted about 20 minutes.
On the car ride, he layed on my lap and did not move at all. He usually looks out the window each time I stop.
At Cornell, they did an exam and bloodwork and everything came back normal. He was pretty much back to nirmal when they finally saw him. They gave him a new med and thought it may a reaction to pain versus a seizure. I sent the info to our vet.
He is now back to being his normal goofy self. I do worry about my boy. His seizures are often long. He is my boy. We love each other so much.

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND
One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road but, even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her. Even with the smile on his face, she looked worried.
No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you. He said, 'I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm?
By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.' Well, all she had was a flat tire but, for an old lady, that was bad enough.
Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two.. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt. As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.
Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need and, God knows, there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.
He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed and, Bryan added, 'And think of me.' He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.
A few miles down the road, the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to get a bite to eat and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her.
The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that, even being on her feet for the whole day, couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude.
The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan. After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back.
The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something was written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: 'You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you.'
Under the napkin were four more $100 bills. Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it?
With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard.... She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, 'Everything's going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.'
There is an old saying... 'What goes around comes around.' Today I send you this story, and I'm asking you to pass it on. Let this light shine. God works in mysterious ways and sometimes puts people in our lives for a reason.

Nacho started his accupuncture appointments today. He was hobbling around yesterday and some today but now he seems to walk normally. We will see how he does. We will do weekly appointments for a while. Sara Robinson is the vet who he is seeing in Ithaca. She sent me these photos. She said he was a very good dog.

Poor Nacho although he is a dog that loves to do everything he is not doing well after a short walk today. We only went about a half of a mile and he so much wanted to go for a walk. But he began to hobble favoring his right from leg again. We picked him up to carry him and he cried out in pain. I feel so bad. He starts accupunture on Wed for the next few weeks. I hope it helps him.

Just found the instructions that came with the dog!! Should have read them sooner. It would have explained a lot!

Dear Customer,
Congratulations on acquiring your Yorkie. Please find the instructions for your model listed below:

Although your Yorkie comes fully assembled, due to particular issues during production, we do occasionally have issues with components such as screws. They are invariably either loose or missing altogether.

Mode 1: This is the sleep mode, activated for most of the day This is normal as your Yorkie ages, and you should not worry about it, just accept the peace and quiet while you can.

Mode 2: Anarchy. Although we have tried to ease the effect of anarchy mode, it’s not always possible. There are inherent issues with the timer settings of anarchy mode in regard to there being none. Should your Yorkie suddenly go from comatose to running up the walls, and in circles, we cannot stop this feature.

Mode 3: Personal space. It no longer exists, and the sooner you come to terms with that, the better!

Mode 4: Love. If it’s your first Yorkie you will wonder how you have gotten through life without one. If it’s not your first, you already know you are very lucky, and you know it won’t be your last.

Naming: Your Yorkie comes untitled as we feel owners should use names of their own. If you are unsure, we have listed below a few names our owners use frequently:

If you have never witnessed a seizure with a dog, this the boy I love, Nacho. He is so precious. It was about 5 min long. He is fine now. He is on seizure meds twice a day. He has an emergency med that I give him after a seizure to prevent a second one. I document his seizures on this page so they are recorded with dates.
