BENEFITS OF AGILITY FOR DOGS
Agility is much more than just a sport for dogs. In addition to being a fun activity, it offers benefits for our companion dogs.
• Promotes concentration: During agility practices, dogs must pay attention to their guides or handlers, their signals, their tone of voice, with the aim of making quick decisions, this stimulates the ability to concentrate and sharpens their mind.
• Improves behavior: Strengthens the areas of education, obedience, attention and temperament. The dog exercises the brain, therefore combating boredom.
• Develops agility and coordination: Agility involves overcoming different obstacles in a circuit. This helps our dogs develop their agility, coordination and balance, improving their physical dexterity
• Reduces stress: Agility is a challenging activity, both for the mind and body of our dogs. By providing them with an outlet and release of energy, it helps reduce stress and anxiety.
• It is a fun activity for both the human and their pet, maintaining the dog's physical condition, which provides better health.
• Strengthens the connection that exists between the handler and his dog: Agility requires a very close collaboration between dog and handler, it is about mutual trust: the dog trusts the owner and lets himself be guided by him, while the latter trusts the skills of your faithful companion. Through this activity the bond and communication between both is strengthened.
I believe that both: the dog and the human need a daily space and time in which they can generate synergy, this means that they can communicate, act and develop a task together with the purpose of having fun, finding together a mental and physical balance with this sport.
