Hello everyone. I have been absent for a while now, not that many people have noticed. This page, my artwork, is something I took alot of pride in. It was my hobby, my pass time, what I did to get my mind off of my current situations and I truly enjoyed doing it. Selling my work only made it so I didn't have stockpiles of it laying around my house forgotten and eventually ruined and to cover the cost of supplies for everything I was making.
I opened my 1st Etsy shop in 2013. My start was slow but grew quickly. I have had some big hits, and others I was so proud of but no one liked. I'm back to having masterpieces laying around my house. Unwanted.... I have no time to call my own anymore. I don't get to touch a paint brush unless it's a commission to paint something I have zero interest in. It's no longer a hobby and I have lost the joy. Endless pet paintings that everyone makes is all people want and because so many people do it, people want to pay next to nothing for my time. My originals with over a hundred hours in them get no attention because I don't have the time to play the endless social media games to get a following for the right people to see them. But I digress....
I have never in my life worked so hard, been so burnt out, so tired and unmotivated to do anything in the rare moments of freedom that I get. I simply do not have spare time. I have no time. I will be turning off my etsy shop. For the 1st time in 10 years I am closing my artist door. My plate is to full and the only way to lighten the load is to stop doing so much.
All orders that have been placed have been shipped out. This page and my instagram will remain up but inactive. All businesses that place wholesale orders will still be able to do so directly with me but I am done with individual sales to the general public at this time.
Due to the algorithms and my absence I'm sure FB will only allow a handful (literally) of people to see this which is why I will keep everything up if anyone cares to look for me.
So farewell everyone. The Inked Serpent is closing down after a decade of trying. Good luck with everyone's endeavors and thank you for your support over the years.
