Hello, everyone.

We've run into the same situation over and over again recently. People have been calling to surrender their senior animals lately for various reasons. The owners passed away and no one is able to take it in, the owner went into a nursing home and can't take the animal along, etc.

We would love to take these animals in, but we need to know that we would have people actually interested in adopting them. We can't take these animals in to have them sit here. The shelter environment is NOT a good place for senior animals and they deteriorate quickly. We want to help these people and these animals but we can't if we aren't positive that these animals will have somewhere to go in a relatively short amount of time.

So, if you would be interested in and willing to adopt a senior animal, please reach out to us or even visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to fill out an application. Where it asks what animal you are interested in, you can write "senior dog/cat".
