We have a brave little one on the way! The first egg to hatch is the one I was most concerned for. It was smaller and more wrinkled. I guess I shouldn't have worried. This one didn't even flinch when I checked on their tub. Just stared back at me and flicked its tongue. These will either all be nice normals from my green male, or we may get a mix of condas from the other male. He's still young, so we'll have to wait and see.
Four healthy hoggie babies. The brown one is the older half sibling of the other three. He hatched out pretty petite, but he's fiesty. They'll be for sale once they start eating consistently.
Galadriel usually doesn't go for the wrong end, but even she gets confused sometimes.
Here, have some 4 am feeding videos.
Well that's exciting! The Vittatus haven't given me a viable clutch of eggs yet, but they must have had one hidden away in the tank, because this is a very healthy, happy tadpole. Papa frog must have carried him to the water without me catching it. Little guy is very enthusiastically cleaning algae off that glass.
A full sized bearded dragon waving at a dominant male, with totally unnecessary commentary from myself and my coworker. Rankin's also wave at each other, in exactly the same way. It's pretty adorable, and indicates a willingness to be social and friendly with another lizard. It's generally considered a submissive gesture. Babies will also do it with larger lizards to remind them that they're the same species.
In a naturalistic vivarium, it's important to have a cleanup crew. I keep dwarf and giant isopods (pillbugs) as well as springtails in all my tanks with a soil substrate. Springtails are really cool bugs. Mine are white temperate springtails. They're so small you barely see them unless there is something for them to eat. In this case, some fungus was growing under the soil and they're getting rid of it. Handy little things.
Short video of the snake I have for sale feeding. He's a good boy. I didn't want to disturb him too much, sorry about the dark.
The Doctor is such a good eater. This is his second pink tonight. He always gives me puppy dog eyes after he's done, but at his size I think I'll stick with two at a time for a little while.
Krim felt a powerful need to be a part of this moment. She's an odd one.
