UPDATE - things changed once again and the dogs came to us this morning

These two nuggets should be coming to us in the next few days. Would anyone care to foster them while we make sure vetting is completed and look for a new family?

We are in need of a couple of volunteers. We need one person to make reminder calls, and we need another person to help at the clinic with getting people checked in. This clinic is at a new location with a very small lobby, so our seniors are not going to be able to wait inside. This change is going to make this first clinic at the new place a little chaotic and I can use some help :)

Columbus Ohio- Do any of our rescue friends have room for LARGE dogs right now? We were contacted by a lady in her late 80's who is trying to find care for the pets of a friend who passed away. There is a GSD, a Great Pyr and 5 of their puppies, pups are 5 1/2 months old (Dogs are said to be super friendly). There are also 15 cats in need of rescue. If any rescuers are able to assist with any of these animals, please message me. This poor lady is completely overwhelmed and physically struggling to try and provide care

Thank you all so very much! Funds have been raised for Duncan's treatment. He is stable, and will be at the vet for a few more hours and then should be ok to go home, and receive wound care. As long as no infection develops, he should be fine in a few weeks

We are currently helping a family whose dog was burned when the vehicle they were traveling caught fire. We have paid the vet to start treatment but any help is greatly appreciated https://www.facebook.com/donate/940381938074596/ or www.paypal.me/hospets or venmo Hospets-Inc

IMPORTANT INFO from our friends at Rascal Unit (Hospets utilizes Rascal Unit for many of our spays/neuters and microchips; this information applies to many of our past adopters.)

We have been informed that Save This Life Microchip has ceased operations and unlinked their entire database from the national registry. Consequently, if your pets’ microchip was registered with them, scanning will no longer retrieve your owner’s information. Rascal Unit used Save this life microchips until mid 2023.

To address this, you can either locate your microchip records and enter the number https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-search/ or contact your veterinarian to obtain this information or to determine which company they used. If necessary, re-register with a different company.

According to our current microchip company, 24PetWatch, clients can register their pets for free in the 24PetWatch registry. They can visit mypethealth.com and click on the button “Create account from microchip.” If they already have an account, they can enter their email on the left, click continue, and then click “Forgot Password” to reset their password. Alternatively, they can call +1 (866) 600-4815 if they do not have an email address.

From our distributor

Save This Life Microchips are UNIVERSAL Chips, and there are no quality or safety concerns with the physical chip itself. Below are suggestions for Save This Life Microchips that will help navigate some of the questions.

Actions for Currently Implanted Chips:

Clinics or their clients can choose to work with Save This Life directly to resolve issues and concerns by using their dedicated Covetrus support line at [[email protected]] (mailto:[email protected]). Since Save This Life Microchips are UNIVERSAL, clinics can also choose to have currently implanted Save This Life chips re-registered via the following links:

24 PetWatch (NO COST) - mypethealth.com and click on the button “Create account from microchip.” If they already have an account, they can enter their email on the left, click continue, and then click “Forgot Password” to reset their password. Alternatively, they can call +1 (866) 600-4815 if they do not have an email address.

FREE Registry Service at http://www.freepetchipregistry.com. This is a FREE database that is connected to the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool.

PetLink at 1-877-PETLINK (738-5465) or Petlink Registration. Clinics can register Save This Life microchipped pets with petlink.net for only $9.99 using the discount code: VEDCO.
If clients do not have their Chip number handy, they can visit any veterinary clinic to have their Pet scanned by a Universal Reader.

ADOPTED Marysville OH- 1 year old Diva is ready to find her family. Diva is a miniature poodle approximately 7 #. She is super friendly and very playful. She is looking for a home where she will be the only dog. As her name implies, she is a Diva. She is the dog who will hoard her toys, her treats and her bed and doesn't want to share with another dog. She is very quick and very jumpy. She would not be suitable for someone with mobility issues. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is working on housetraining. She is learning to walk on leash. She came from a puppy mill environment, so new sights and sounds can be a little scary. If interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.hospets.org/adoption-application.html

Update ...Thank you everyone, we have had a ton of foster and foster to adopt applications turned in. I will go through apps in the morning, but this guy should be covered

Grove City: We are in need of someone to foster a 2.5-year-old Maltese. He is being surrendered to Hospets due to his person's declining health. He is said to be crate trained, good with dogs, good with older kids, and afraid of cats. He is said to be housetrained. We will get his vet records tomorrow and should be picking him up tomorrow. If interested in fostering, please fill out our foster application. If you have fostered with us before, the form is not necessary. https://www.hospets.org/adoption-application.html Fosters need to live in Central Ohio.

Look at how far shy girl Molly has come after being in a fantastic foster home for a couple of weeks. She is no longer hiding in a corner. Thank you Susan!

A huge thank you to Brad for picking up Lucky, fostering and getting him in right away to address his major grooming needs. Unfortunately, Lucky's person has been quite ill and not able to keep up with Lucky's grooming care. The wonderful folks at Jen's Nose to Tail of Hilliard jumped right in and gave him a complimentary and much-needed groom. We have some paperwork to finalize but it is likely that Lucky will be in need of a home in the near future
