The chickadees so happy to be roaming around in the cooler misty breeze today. All the birds and bugs buzzing around me quite loudly in the trees as I make my way around the farm. It’s quite deafening actually but a nice kind, just the traffic of the wild💚

Serious chicken business going on this morning👩🏼🌾
A change in routine due to the heat building today and the caravan was feeling a bit too warm for my liking. So 2 days and they are out, it’s usually 3 but I think it’s time to get them out on grass today as there is a nice breeze and some shady spots to protect from that burning sunlight before the cooler changes comes through..
Love watching them jump out one by one🥰

Nesting box training on this gorgeous day!
Our newest recruits who are excelling in egg laying from a young age🙌 are however laying a few (maybe 15 a day) ground eggs under the caravan and feeders, not in the nesting boxes.
We cannot sell these eggs so they go to waste. After watching a tutorial by @chickencaravan they suggested that we come out at egg laying time and walk around and for all those chicks that squat pick them up and place them into the nesting box. Ideally blocking off these areas too will help but I’ll try this technique firstly to see if I can alleviate those ground eggs so they learn that the nesting boxes are the best place. Consistency is the key🥚🤞
