Who:
My name is Melissa, and I am a lifetime dog mom, and experienced trail hiker in Durham Region (Ontario).
What:
Weekend 5k on-leash trail hikes for dogs. Limited slots are available (first confirmed). Pick-up and return (door to door, within Durham region; additional charge for further pick-up locations). Dogs will be transported to/from the hike. Must have all up-to-date shots, and a meeting before the first walk/hike is mandatory to ensure a good fit, and that dog parents understand the risks and nuances of trail hiking.
There will be burrs. Sometimes mud. We do our best not to get purposely mucky, but muck happens!
Where:
Local area trails (Durham Region and surrounding area). We frequent Durham Forest, Heber Down, and Rouge Urban Park, but sometimes venture to other areas.
When:
Weekends only (Saturdays and Sundays), all year. Walks will be cancelled in extreme weather circumstances (lightening, blizzards, ice storms etc.).
Why:
For dogs with boundless energy, and the families who do not have the capacity to provide weekend adventures for their pooch. Perfect for elderly or under the weather pet parents, and busy families who want to ensure their dog gets the outdoor activity they deserve.
Cost:
$20 per dog under 35 lbs
$25 per dog over 35-50lbs
Hikes longer than 5k, solo hikes for dogs that are not fully vaccinated or for dogs over 50lbs, available on request. We can also do off trail walks for pet parents who prefer to avoid the woods. Contact me for more information and pricing. 🐾
