Cat Crusaders Feline Rescue Our mission is to rescue and adopt abused, hoarded, neglected, injured and special needs cats and provide them a safe sanctuary. How can you help?

Welcome to Cat Crusaders Feline Rescue's page! Our mission is to rescue and adopt abused, hoarded, neglected, injured and special needs cats and provide them a safe sanctuary where they can spend their lives being loved and spoiled. Our felines have come from rough beginnings: thrown away, abused, dumped, forgotten, neglected. Our special needs cats range from felines with asthma, feline

cognitive dysfunction (often referred to as kitty's Alzheimer's), feline herpesvirus, stomatitis, issues from being abused, and other conditions. None of these conditions make these felines any less worthy of love or of having a happy home and happy life. This is what Cat Crusaders Feline Rescue provides. We are always in need of cat supplies! We have a wish list on Amazon.com. You can contribute via Paypal for the unending vet bills and medications, and gift cards are always welcome- we scour stores for pet supplies on sale, markdown or clearance. Thank you for your support whether by following our page, your positive and supportive comments, and/or your donations. Your support allows us to continue to rescue and provide for our fur family, and for that we are fur-ever grateful!!

For quite some time, the pumps to our water fountains were giving out rather quickly, and we couldn't figure out why. Then we found the problem - or rather the culprit. It turns out Journey was chewing on the cords! We found a solution though - we now have the cardboard of paper towel rolls slid over the bottom of the cord where Journey can no longer get to it. We always have some sort of hijinks going on!

Jeannie sent a replacement pump to us, and we set it down only long enough to take a picture before Journey got to it! Thank you so much for the pump, Jeannie - it's something we REALLY needed!

Those who follow our page know that we recently had a serious catnip situation (giggle, giggle). It looks like there may be another occurrence thanks to the TWO canisters of catnip that we received from Cynthia. Take a look at Nikita's face-she's already plotting!

Thank you very much for what we know is going to be a VERY good time for our cat crew, Cynthia!

Uh oh.......the human failed to take a picture of a donation we received, and it is currently in use. Barbara sent us a box of Slide litter, and we've already recycled the cardboard box, so we can't even take a picture of that. Taking a photo of one of our litter boxes wouldn't exactly be pleasant, so we decided to post some cuteness today.

Our mischievous Jypsy somehow managed to pry open the doors to the human's wardrobe, and made herself a little cozy spot right in the middle of the human's winter clothing. It's so adorable we couldn't bear to make her move.

Barbara, our apologies for the forgetfulness-but we are very appreciative of the Slide litter you sent to us!

MOM!!!!! When do we get to open presents?

-Phoebe

Today is the day! It's our purr-thday party! We'll be opening gifts in just a bit, but we want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone for thinking of our cat crew and celebrating with us, even though it may be across the miles.

We'll reach out individually within a couple of days to thank those who sent a surprise (or ten!) to us-we've had some delivery issues and want to make sure we don't miss expressing our gratitude to each of you. We are so thankful for everyone's support.

The human wakes up every morning to the sound of our felines romping around the house, but yesterday morning was strangely quiet. Headed to the other side of the house to investigate, the culprit was discovered - a canister of catnip that had been pried open, spread across the kitchen floor, and around two dozen kitties in catnip heaven.

Jean, to say our cats loved your gift is an understatement. Thank you for providing hours of entertainment for our cat crew. The human had to spend extra time cleaning the kitchen floor, but it was totally worth it.

Last week was super-busy for us! We decorated for Christmas, we're getting ready for our annual purr-thday party this Saturday, we have three sick kitties, and Panther to get fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Great news-he tested negative for FIV and FELV! He is now officially a part of our cat crew, and we are slowly introducing him to his new brothers and sisters.

We thought we'd start Monday off with a lot of litter-TEN boxes of litter, sent to us by our friend Barbara. We can never have too much litter! Rocky says, "Thank you, Barbara-we use this every day-several times a day!"

Onyx is super - excited about the four bags of Purina Gentle Formula and case of Fancy Feast Seafood canned food sent to our cat crew by Vickie. She makes sure our felines have plenty of dry kibble so they will be healthy and happy. Thank you so much, Vickie!

Wahooooooooooo! Guess what everybody? We're getting ready for our annual purr-thday party next month-and I couldn't be more excited!

We normally have our party the first weekend of December, but the human says we have to wait until the second weekend of December because Panther will be quarantined until around the 11th or 12th. So our party this year will be on Saturday, December 14th. Who wants to celebrate with us? We'd love to see you!

Elliott is a prancing, proud boy today. Some of you may remember that we almost lost him a couple of months ago due to a urinary blockage. Our sweetie spent five days in the hospital.

Elliott is now required to be on a prescription only diet. His canned and dry food are EXPENSIVE! Recently we received a $200 PayPal donation from our friend Barbara, which we used to pay for Elliott's prescription food last month. This was a HUGE help to us, and we are very, very thankful to you, Barbara! 💕

Hi everyone! It's me-Panther. Guess what? I wasn't feral after all-I was just very scared. The human suspects that I was dumped, which made her really sad. No pet should ever be dumped. But now I'm living the high life! I have my own room, my own toys, I'm safe, I have food, and I'm going to be warm when the freezing temperatures come in tonight.

I'm happy to be here, but it's going to be a little while before I can meet the other kitties. I have an appointment next month to get fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and get tested for FIV/FELV. Until those results come in, I will be in my room. The human makes sure I get lots of love, and I really enjoy sitting in her lap. I also am a very good biscuit maker, and I give head bonks, too. I can't wait to meet my fur brothers and sisters, and I'm so happy to have a forever home!

We were so surprised to receive a donation that we've never gotten before-and it's something we can definitely use. Our friend Leslie sent us TWO ROLLS of postage stamps! These are going to allow us to send sooooo many thank you cards (which we are currently behind on......we apologize for the delay but we're working with our new feral kitty and winterizing the cattery). Postage is expensive these days, and these two rolls of stamps are a big deal for us! Thank you very, very much, Leslie!

When we rescued Wesley, he spent the first eight months of his life battling coccidia, and nothing the vet gave him helped. There was only one more option - to have a medication compounded especially for him. It was our last hope - and it worked!

We're not sure if it's a result of having coccidia for so long, but Wesley has a weak digestive system. We have to be careful with what he eats, and there are times when he needs to see his vet to get an injection to get his digestive system back on track.

With this issue that he has, we were so excited when we received four cases of Weruva chicken and pumpkin dinner from our friend Barbara. This formula really helps with Wesley's digestive issues. Barbara, Wesley is sending purrs of thanks for his special gift!

A couple of weeks ago, the human found paw prints on her car's windshield. After washing it thoroughly, we watched for more signs of a cat, but saw nothing - until yesterday.

We saw a cat crossing our county road, and called out to it. We went on about our day, but then we glanced outside to see a cat in the driveway. Then in the yard. We set out food and after an hour, kitty finally approached the bowl and ate.

Judging from the reaction of some of our boy kitties, we believe this cat is a male. Another cat is NOT what we need - but we are not about to let this cat go hungry. We heard him this morning; he's already trained the human to come running with food at his beck and call! We will work to tame him and get him fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. We can't turn away a kitty that came to us for help.

We have given kitty a name - Panther. We're not sure of his age but we're guessing he's somewhere between eight months to a couple of years old. As we make progress with him, we'll be able to get a better idea of how old he is. Given the freezing temperatures forecasted for next week, today we are working to set up a place where Panther will be warm and out of the elements, and a place where he will feel safe and comfortable spending the night. We'll keep everyone posted as updates become available.

Kip can't believe his eyes!! TWO boxes of his favorite toy-mice! He and his brother, Kye, as well as sisters Jypsy and Journey, LOVE these mice. Two boxes of them are going to last a very long time.

We want to give a HUGE thank you to Jeannie and Cynthia for sending these to us! These mice are going to provide hours and hours of playtime!

We still have many donations to post and are working to get them posted as soon as we can. The meteorologist on our local news station said the forecast for next week shows temperatures will go down into the 20s (nooooooo!), so we have spent the lot of the last week working in the cattery, and will be putting up the tarps in the next couple of days. Side note: we don't let our felines into the cattery when it's below 50 degrees, and we don't let them sleep overnight in the cattery if it's not at least 60 degrees. We already have the house nice and cozy with blankets everywhere, where our cat crew is warm and toasty at night. We're not ready for winter!
