Miracle on 246th Street... or at least we're hoping for one. Kindred Community Farm people have found a great property in Langley and we have hundreds of homeless bunnies who would love to be part of what will be the Kindred Village.

Bunny in Abbotsford, BC, needs help!

This poor bunny has been abandoned near Mill Lake in Abbotsford, BC. Its too far for us. Can anybody out that way help? The rabbit was spotted "near a supply shed at the play park with the train." Entrance off Bevan Avenue.

It can be hard to bond with a pet that is inherently timid and distrusting of you. When all you want is to snuggle and play with your bunny, it quickly becomes frustrating when they run away from you and hide behind the couch until you go away. Because of this initial disconnect and rejection, it can be tempting to feel like giving up on your bunny.

But if you learn the right way to bond with them, you will see that they have a distinct personality, display a range of emotions, and are perfectly capable of becoming your best buddy and a beloved family member!

Quebec animal shelters are overwhelmed by the number of rabbits being dropped off. The executive director says it's higher than they have ever seen. 😳

“Unfortunately, we see many rabbits abandoned and rescued by our officers,” said RSPCA rabbit welfare expert.

“We suspect that in many cases these rabbits have been bought on impulse as ‘starter pets’ for children but owners quickly realize that they’re complex animals to care for and sadly they end up coming into our rescue centres.”

The RSPCA is urging anyone who may have bought a rabbit on impulse during the lockdown to reach out for help if they’re struggling.

Rescuers found 30 abandoned rabbits, many of which were dead, in Calverton, New York. 😥

A sad situation with a somewhat just ending:
According to the Suffolk County SPCA, two people were arrested and charged with violations including animal abandonment.
