Lichtigs K-9 Academy We provide dog obedience training, and behavior modification services at your home, or at our home. Ask for Details. All programs begin January 2017.

There is a Free Orientation Every Saturday at 10:30 AM beginning November 5th, 2016 at the Rover's Romphouse Facility. Please do not bring your dogs to the orientation. Come out and hear about our programs, while enjoying coffee and donuts. Training Programs:

Puppy Essentials Class - for puppies 8 to 16 weeks old. This program is designed to give you the knowledge you need to raise a young puppy into a full grown adult dog, while providing leadership, a positive environment, and a loving family for your dogs. Classes begin the first Wednesday of each month, beginning in January 2017. This is not an obedience class, but teaches you things like how to potty train, and crate train your puppy. How to prevent biting, name association, socialization, and how to identify different triggers that could lead to aggressiveness if not corrected immediately. This is a 4 week long course. Group Obedience Classes -

This program is a 6 month, learn at your own pace, program. Most if not all group classes in the Houston area, run once a week, for about 6 weeks, and often, have 6 or 7 different levels to progress through, each level costing a small fortune, and each lasting roughly 6 weeks. And pray you don't miss a week, or fall behind, because you will get left behind, and often have to repeat that same course. My program however, meets every Saturday, excluding holidays. Class times depend on what "Grade" you and your dog are currently in. There is a total of 6 grades, that will take you from basic obedience, to an advanced obedience level of training. And you can repeat each level as often as you need to ensure you and your dog know what it is your supposed to be doing. Nobody gets left behind, and if you cant make it one weekend, that is alright, you can catch the same class the next week. We understand that everybody has "Things" pop up unexpectedly from time to time and we don't want you to be punished by the unexpected. Board & Train

This program includes a 12-18 day stay at our facility with a full staff present 7 days a week, making this option accommodating to you & your family whether you are taking a vacation or have limited time to set these behaviors on your own. During your dog’s stay we will utilize our training techniques to provide you with your pet’s maximum performance. Your dog will sleep in an indoor facility & receive monitored indoor & outdoor daycare for socialization / playtime & kept on a schedule for feeding & cleaning. We will have no less than 3 training sessions per day. All of the necessary training tools such as leashes, collars & an elevated bed will be included. At the end, we’re going to make it easy for you to maintain these trained results by providing you with a 1-2 hour command lesson upon your dog’s return home. Pet Sitting & Dog Walking

With Lichtig’s K9 Academy pet sitting services, your precious pet will receive care unlike any other within the comfort of your home. Most all pets are welcome including, cats, dogs, fish & birds. If you plan to leave for an extended amount of time, it’s best for pets to stay in their environment where they can maintain proper exercise, a healthy diet & daily routines. While you are away, you can count on us to walk the dogs, give extra love & attention, plenty of playtime, feedings, water plants & handle the trash. As professional dog trainers, we can also offer training sessions during this time. Please call as additional charges may apply. Schedule your free in-home meet and greet with no strings attached. It’s just a way for all of us to get to know one another.

Our Story

Like humans, each dog has a unique personality. We have found that an individual approach is the key to success. With positive reinforcement & reward-based training in a comfortable environment, both you and your dog can reach a mutual understanding of one another. Area of Expertise: • Basic House Training • Come when called • Down/Stay • Sit/Stay • Healing On & Off Leash • Place/Climb Command • Stay At A Distance • Jumping on People/Furniture • Behavior Modification • Socialization • Aggression/on a case by case basis. We offer a free orientation for our training program at your home in the Spring, Humble area, but do need to charge $20.00 for this orientation outside Spring or Humble, sorry. Our board and train program is done 1 dog at a time, so space is very limited. Please schedule your training session with us so nobody is left out in the cold if we already have a client. It is based off a first come first served basis. There is no obligation to sign up with us after this orientation, no harassing phone calls, and no High pressure sales, all of which are pet peeves of mine, therefore I don’t do them for you either. Training Programs: Board & Train This program includes a 10-21 day stay at our home, being treated the same as our dogs are treated. making this option accommodating to you & your family whether you are taking a vacation or have limited time to set these behaviors on your own. During your dog’s stay we will utilize our training techniques to provide you with your pet’s maximum performance. Your dog will sleep indoors, receive socialization with our now 4 dogs, and get playtime with our dogs on a regular basis throughout the day. We will have no less than 3 training sessions per day. All of the necessary training tools such as leashes, collars & an elevated bed will be included. At the end, we’re going to make it easy for you to maintain these trained results by providing you with a 1-2 hour command lesson upon your dog’s return home.

Private lessons

This program lasts between 4 and 6 lessons, depending on the level of training you request. Each lesson lasts roughly 1 hour, give or take 15 minutes, and are held once per week, based on your most convenient time each week. For example: every Monday night at 7:00 PM. These lessons are designed to teach YOU how to train your dog, so that you can train them yourself during the week, before the next lesson, and you will be tested at the start of each new lesson to ensure you dog is performing at the expected level. These lessons can be paid for 1 lesson at a time, or prepay for 4 lesson minimum to get your final lesson for free. There is also additional charges for training equipment that you will be responsible for providing for the lessons.

Additional Services: Pet Sitting & Dog Walking With Lichtig’s K9 Academy pet sitting services, your precious pet will receive care unlike any other within the comfort of your home. Most all pets are welcome including, cats, dogs, fish & birds. If you plan to leave for an extended amount of time, it’s best for pets to stay in their environment where they can maintain proper exercise, a healthy diet & daily routines. While you are away, we plan up to three 30 - 45 minute visits per day as requested, let your dogs outside to potty, clean litter boxes, feed all the animals, water plants on request, and take out the trash on trash day, as requested. As professional dog trainers, we can also offer training sessions during this time. Please call as additional charges may apply. And please call way in advance to schedule, as there is only my wife and I providing this service, and holidays tend to get a bit busy as she still has her main job, and is required to work holidays. Space is limited. this service is for the Spring and Humble areas, with a few pre-approved exceptions for previous clients. Schedule your free in-home meet and greet with no strings attached.
