A great reminder about the risks of using a retractable leash (and why we don’t recommend them). Thank you, Hillside Animal Hospital!

🐾 For Everyone's Safety: No Retractable Leashes, Please! 🐾

To help keep all pets and people safe during visits, we kindly ask you to avoid using retractable leashes while in our hospital.

Here’s why:

- Limited Control: Retractable leashes can allow pets to move too far ahead, which may lead to accidental run-ins with other animals or unexpected situations in busy areas.
- Risk of Injury: The thin, extended cord of retractable leashes can easily tangle around pets, people, or objects, potentially causing cuts, burns, or falls.
- Difficult to Retract Quickly: In emergencies, retractable leashes are often hard to pull back quickly, limiting our ability to prevent close contact between pets.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation to help create a safer, calmer environment for all!
