This year, we're excited to feature Nick's Olive Oil, crafted from organic olives grown right here on the sanctuary property and inspired by Nikki's dad and her Greek heritage. 100% of the proceeds from Nick's Olive Oil go directly towards the animals!
You'll also find our unique MFAS t-shirts, postcards, and fragrant lavender alongside locally made favorites like candles, tote bags, soaps, wooden bowls, and pottery, celebrating local artisans and all the creativity in our Santa Ynez Valley. Plus, you'll find organic produce, fresh flowers grown on the property, pears (in September/October), and much more!

Did you know we grow our own lavender right here at the sanctuary? Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting women veterans from and representatives from to help with this year's lavender harvest. It was a wonderful time filled with connection, nature, relaxation, and (of course) plenty of bonding with our animals!
We are thrilled to have met such wonderful people and engage in strong community outreach. Thank you for your help with our lavender harvest and for sharing the love with the animals!

Look how much Scout has grown! At just under four months old, our sweet boy has become an irreplaceable part of MFAS. Thanks to the kindness and care he's received from everyone here, Scout is extremely trusting and always eager to play and cuddle. Tuesday and Pierre are a part of our herd of Misfits, and Pierre quickly took a liking to Tuesday. In no time, they developed a strong bond, so strong, in fact, that Pierre will fight anyone who gets too close to Tuesday! Pierre has a bit of a Napoleon complex, even threatening to take on John when he dares to get too close to Pierre's girl. While Tuesday is no damsel in distress, she does enjoy the attention and romance Pierre showers on her!

He may hog the hose, but Al knows hydration is key during these summer heat waves! The Lake Fire continues nearby, but please rest assured that our sanctuary is safe and sound. While we remain unaffected by the flames, our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we extend our deepest gratitude to the courageous firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to protect our community.
Head to head, heart to heart. Delilah and Kali’s bond radiates warmth and trust. Research suggests that animals can sense human emotions and respond with empathy, deepening the bond between them.
Caution: Splash zone ahead! George and Daisy love a refreshing shower, but Kali often finds herself caught in the crossfire! Judging by the mischievous glint in George’s eyes, we’re pretty sure he know’s exactly what he’s doing...
Just rescued! Meet Scout, a ONE WEEK old Jersey bull calf, who just arrived here at MFAS! And as you can see, our volunteer Kali is already head over heels in love with him. We recently received an email from someone named Scout, who was desperately trying to save a male calf she’d heard about at a dairy farm. She had contacted approximately 20 different sanctuaries/rescues but sadly they were all at capacity. While we felt that our cow family was full, we said YES, as the the little guy had no other options. After many emails back and forth to coordinate his arrival, imagine our surprise when we discovered Scout had just turned 13 years old! Scout is passionate about animals and worked so diligently to save this calf, never giving up in her effort to find him a forever home. We decided to name the calf Scout in her honor! Together, the “Scouts” embody the power of perseverance and hope, reminding us that every act of kindness makes a difference. Scout’s journey is just beginning! Homer is receiving plenty of healthy treats as he recuperates from a recently diagnosed condition similar to “tennis elbow” in humans. Nikki shared, “Our mini pig Homer began limping severely. Initially, we suspected a sprain from the muddy storms, but after an X-Ray, our vet discovered that Homer has developed arthritis in his elbow and has dysplasia where his bone didn’t form correctly.” We got him started on a healthy weight loss diet as well as medication, and he is resting in our recovery area with his rooster buddy Barney by his side to keep him company. Homer was our first pig to join MFAS! He was rescued from the Animal Control Shelter in Agoura Hills after being found as a stray in a field. He is such a gentle and clever pig who even sits for treats!

We’ve all got that one friend who never misses an opportunity to make themselves heard. Ours is Roscoe! Anyone near our pigs is bound to hear his confident crows echoing through the pastures. He’s our daily reminder that confidence is key...and volume, apparently.

Our Star may be small, but oh, is he mighty! His crows ring out with such force, you’d think he’s ten times his size. Star is a Silver Seabright rooster, which is known for being one of the smallest chicken breeds and for their gentle and docile temperament.
