I am sad to report that Ginger has left us.
She has been sick with cancer and after 15 yrs of a tremendous life she crossed over that rainbow bridge yesterday.
Many of you ran training runs or races with her. Some might have witnessed her running to the finish line reveling in your shouts of “Go Ginger”!!
Just last October at age 14 yrs she won Paws 4 The Cause 5k with an incredible 6th overall first dog finish of 22:07 with a 7:08 pace overcoming the arthritis she struggled with lately.
We didn’t know what we had in this pup when we brought her home years ago.
She became a sensation so I shared her journey and my love of her on social media.
She truly was a special dog, more than you even saw.
Her last days she still chased the groundhogs and squirrels but she became weak and tired as the days went on.
She was a little lover, our baby girl, our child, our comfort, my running partner.
Rest now Ginger, you are the best dog ever and the love you gave is more than the love we take. 💕
