WHAT AN EXPERIENCE FOR THESE Glenwood House School LEARNERS ‼️

Every year ODIN has been the recipient of the Glenwood House Karoo Challenge cycling event ..where the learners participate in the 18 days, 550 km mountain bike ride through stunning, challenging back roads in the Karoo.

This exercise further prepares the Glenwood learners to the real challenges they will face as school leavers. Teaching them that life skills aren't taught sitting at a desk .. you need to experience team spirit, sportsmanship and true grit to complete your preparation for the world out there.

And the extreme temperatures during this year's odyssey certainly challenged this awesome group of youngsters. Well done Christo for leading the pack and always including the plight of those neglected animals in need along your 550 km sojourn.

It is a traditional outcome for ODIN and the Oudtshoorn Municipal Pound to immediately follow up with a massive outreach in Dysselsdorp when we share these donations of food amongst starving dogs and cats. We get to share our educational outreach in due course.

We recently helped a young lady in Oudtshoorn sterilize her three cats. She called us a few minutes ago saying that she rescued a little kitten from 3 grown boys who was throwing stones at it saying ‘it was sick’.
The little kitty looks badly injured and needs a vet but our vet account is frozen….. please this baby needs urgent care!!

Every year ODIN is privileged to share this journey with the young adults and future leaders and community aware learners ..

And every year religiously we are donated food for the OUTREACHES in DYSSELSDORP and surrounds.

The privilege of passing through these areas can be marred by the poverty in some communities and this is where this awesome initiative brings such relief with their generosity ..

Food DOES NOT LAST and we will beg again and again but that's what we do ..we become wrecks in order to help the voiceless.. we won't have fun during the festive season.. our stress levels double ... but as long as we know we have your support .. we won't stop begging for those animals out there that are SUFFERING ‼️‼️‼️

We sent bags across to Oudtshoorn for our Outreaches .. Aunty Malinda needs it desperately in GG Kamp and Aunty Charlene needs it when we have tip offs of neglect (which is daily). And for those dogs coming down to the Pound DAILY for the only food they ever get 😪🙏

THANK YOU .. sadly we won't ever stop begging but THANK YOU for filling so many tummies for the next week 🌟🌟

We still need to collect the another six 40 kg bags (we need THREE just at our Blanco kennels daily, excluding puppy kibbles 😪) since we had another awesome donation yesterday 🙏🙏🙏

We need to return to this farming community .. we just don't have the means ..the warnings weren't heeded and there are more animals in distress than people on this property ..

Please, we are leading up to the "festive season" and for these animals it will be an extension of their hell 😭

💕Becky and Tiny got chosen together！！ 😽🐾🦋
Becky was brought in after so much pain and misery in her short life. We suspect that she was kicked and her jaw was broken. She could barely eat but managed to keep herself alive for the sake of her unborn kittens…. When they were born she was unable to assist with the birth by licking her kittens as cat mommies do and in the process they all died.

We brought her in and took her to the vet…..
After an operation to fix her jaw, being sterilised, tested and treated for biliary, this brave girl came home to recover, to a kennel where Tiny was her room mate. (Tiny has a sad story too but we will tell that one another time. )
Fast forward several weeks and the two young females, now besties, were noticed and chosen to be adopted!!

Thank you for giving these two lovelies the purrfect home!

He will continue his spoilt life after having the rug pulled put from under him 😭

This family visited him EVERY SINGLE DAY ..then fostered him after his neuter .. took him to the beach ...

At his new home he will continue..

Eating his Lay Chips

Sleep under the duvet ..

And just like that ..

‼️ We are COMPLETELY OUT OF FOOD ‼️

A few bags donated and that's it 😭

We cannot feed our Kennel dogs nor outreaches ..

We are at the end of the line with begging ..soon sanity will prevail and we can all go and recover from rescue .. this is just no longer even a calling.. it's hell.
