Spikey doo you sure helped me through some very tough times. And you really helped me with my anxiety more then any med could. You prevented a lot of panic attacks and when I did have them you helped make them not so intense. Now I still have bad panic attacks I don't sleep well and I just feel part of my soul gone. I love an miss you baby boy thank you for everything you did. You were my special boy and I hope one day I see you again my sweet baby boy ❤️
Marley loves to sit in front of me and just stare at me....reminds me of spike. Lately he's doing things just like spike. I was telling my hubby I wish I got more signs from spike then Marley starts acting like him. Spike will always be number 1 but Marley is my number 2 and is a good buddy to have ❤️
This came up in my memories and I had to share on spikey doos page. He made the perfect tree topper. Gosh I miss my lil cute sweet photogenic baby 💔😭
Marley moo has become my dog. I was so sad when Ollie our chi/Italian greyhound took to my hubby. I was grieving so bad and had so many crying spells and Ollie didn't know what to think. Last year in June I seen a post on here and once I seen his pic I had a feeling I needed this dog. It was stressful potty training and training him not to chew. It took longer for him to finally get potty trained. Now that he's a year old and out of puppy stage im not as stressed. Sometimes I would get in these moods I'd push him away and go to my room and cry. I just kept thinking spike thinks I'm replacing him. After some time it's gotten better. Marley hasn't held it against me and now he's doing things that spike did and he comforts me when I cry. Now I do believe spike put him in my life to help me and keeping me company. He absolutely loves walks. Ollie doesn't at all. He doesn't pull and is so easy on a leash. He's 70lbs and loves to get on my lap and cuddle. He put his head on my forehead like spike did. I hope that meant spike is influencing him and giving me signs.

Ravi A2344108 is a 6 year old Collie Mix weighing 38lbs and HW NEG. Her owner was hospitalized and Ravi was turned over to the Shelter. The owner has not responded to the shelter reaching out or any family members…. She is scared. She is eligible for foster with someone Experienced! She has not wanted any handling. This is her 2nd Plea and is now a DEADLINE.

3-NOV-23 - Behavior - 11/03/23 14:37 Ravi was easy to get out of the kennel. JS approached and he came to the door and JS was able to place the leash on him. He was not reactive to the dogs in the kennels. JS was able to slowly approach his neck to put a clip a leash. In the yard, he cruised around for a little bit and then he started to hang around the handler. Ravi’s body language was tense, nervous, and alert. JS was able to pet Ravi utilizing the three second rule. JS went to sit on the bench and was giving treats to Ravi which he takes very gently. JS went to pet him a second time around the face because Ravi seems to be more alert about going over the head petting (same way as the first time). Ravi became tense and gave a warning to JS on the hand (did not break skin). After the warning Ravi continue and placed the two front legs onto JS’ legs while growling and showing teeth. JS was able to redirect him by throwing treats. JS was able to change leashes and put him back in the kennel using a clip to slip.
Requesting final rescue plea because Ravi has allowed minimal handling at the shelter. When handling Ravi, things must be very simple. She is not a fan of petting or being close to people. Ravi snapped at a staff member when they were assessing her behavior; after snapping she was growling, hard staring and baring her teeth at the staff member. Ravi’s body language is clear about not wanting people to interact with her. If no commitment by the deadline, humane euthanasia will be authorized.

Ravi came to us last week due to their owner going to the hospital. We have not been able to contact them since. She came in on very scared & flighty, so she was muzzled as a precaution to give her vaccinations & HW test. She would do best with someone who is familiar with the border collie breed. If you can help her, please let us know.

Torque A2341393 is 1yr old, intact male and weighs 35lbs. Torque came into the shelter as a stray from animal control. A volunteer was able to leash Torque in the kennel and brought him out for some photos. Volunteer did not have any issues with Torque until it was time to go back. Torque started to show abnormal behaviors, spinning on leash, chasing tail, and staring at nothing. The vet exam and monitoring showed no signs of proprioceptive issues or circling. Torque was noted to show signs of deafness versus ignoring staff and a slight head tilt to the right. Torque also became difficult for the volunteer to handle. Torque has been in play groups where he was label as a gentle dainty/tolerant dog. He allowed greetings from the other dogs, and he greeted the other dogs. Requesting final rescue plea because Torque has displayed some unpredictable behaviors at the shelter, and he also growls anytime somebody pets him. If no commitment by deadline, humane euthanasia will be authorized.
Staff Note: 10/26/23 Torque was very nervous in the kennel. Torque came up to JS and sniffed him in the kennel but as soon as the leash was presented, Torque became more scared and ran away. JS had AA close the dividing door and was able to leash Torque. Torque walked to the yard; he needs some work walking on the leash. Torque seemed to be sensitive to the leash pressure. In the yard, Torque came up to JS and AA. Torque was still nervous and uncomfortable. He was sensitive to his surroundings. JS was able to take him back to the kennel.
Volunteer Note: 10/29/23 Torque started to spin and looked at his tail and he would stare to the ground.
Staff Note: 10/30/23 Torque was in the back of kennel when MR approached. MR tossed treats but he did not come forward. MR then went to the inside portion of the kennel where dog was much more alert. Dog was doing some alert barking, MR crouched down and presented dog with treat and leash. Dog stopped alert barking when MR shifted body language lower to the ground. MR was able to leash, on first attempt leashing dog became tangled in the leash, MR was able to handle in kennel and untangle dog no issues. MR then leashed the dog. Dog appears slightly disoriented on leash, moves side to side and seems unsure of leash pressure. In yard dog was very friendly, solicited attention by jumping into MR's lap and performed basic cues. Dog was easy to return to kennel.
Staff Note: 11/2/23 During morning DVM rounds, Torque lunged at kennel door and had hackles raised when approached and offered high value treat (turkey hot dog).
Oh my gosh this poor baby. People like that should be banned from every getting a furbaby.
Crying over Miss Gigi. She has hated being here. Staring at me and whining to leave. She finally, after 4 hours, fliuffed up her blanket to lie down in exhaustion. She had been adopted, they gave her away, and she ended up dumped at the river with a raging skin infection and missing hair. All the adopter had to do was call. But she chose to give her to a friend. When I called her. After being contacted by Sullivan Humane, she said she gave her to a friend. She said, I see her all the time and she is well cared for. Oh really... I then told her the condition the dog was found and where. She said, I can text her. No bother, the dog is not her dog and no longer your dog. You broke your contract. So crying over the what she had to deal with and knowing she loves me. I would never do such a thing. Have I ever said, I hate people!
So true. Altho spike was pretty vocal. He had different barks for different things. I knew what every whine and bark meant we had our own language.
going through pics on the ipad. and i came across these pics. these are some of my favorite pics of spike. an even tho i look terrible in the pics i just want to show how cuddly he was. i’d rock him an hold him like a baby and sing you are my sunshine to him an he’d look into my eyes. and i felt that strong love feeling i had when my son was a baby.
I hurt my back pretty good the other day. I think Marley knows mom's hurting cuz he's been by my side and not even trying to get on my lap or anything like he usually does. He just puts his head on my lap and since I been using a cane to get up I got creative and use it to grab his tire and throw it across the living room lol. I like to think spike also influences him to do stuff cuz he's not been like this before when I was laid up and couldn't do much. Anyway he's making this better to deal with. Marley moo is such a good boy and I know spikey doo is here with us too ❤️🥰
