The course is 6 weeks long and will cover basic skills such as eye contact, sit, touch, loose leash walking, recall foundation, down, leave-it and stay.

Dog Lovers Training has 3 open spaces in a Basic Obedience class for dogs older than 6 months. Class Starts at 4:00 pm beginning 2/26/25. The course is 6 weeks long and will cover basic skills such as eye contact, sit, touch, loose leash walking, recall foundation, down, leave-it and stay.
In addition to the skills we learn, we discuss the behaviors and body language that we see.

Dog training can help you with many issues – beyond obedience. Nice manners out in public, better habits/routines in the house, helping your dog be less fearful of people or be better behaved for grooming and cleaning; all can be achieved with training. I can help you address any issues that you are having.
Dog Lovers Training is your source for solving dog behavior issues, obedience, therapy dog preparation, Canine Good Citizen title preparation and exam, service dog certification and all around training in Bennington. Lessons can be in your home, at the Dog Lovers Training facility or out in public, depending on your needs. Having worked extensively with rescue dogs, I am familiar with most behavioral/adjustment issues.
My bachelors degree is in Animal Behavior and I have been nationally certified CPDT-KA for 9 years. I am also a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant.

Anybody recognize this truck? Two terrible pet owners just pulled over- poor dog bursting to p**p… walked right up our lawn - let the little guy p**p (while looking at us while we stood in disbelief) and then ran back to the truck and drove off; hopefully decently embarrassed fot being an unprepared pet owner! Bad enough to be a bad citizen with no social graces… but these pathetic people kept that dog in the truck for way too long and were not prepared to take care of the dog. There really should be an IQ test before people are allowed to get a dog.

Reactivity Behavior Solutions Course
Does your dog lose his/her mind when they see other dogs? Lunging? Barking? Uncontrollable behaviors? Your dog is likely showing signs of Reactivity. Dog Lovers Training and West Mountain Animal Hospital are offering a 5 week course of one hour classes to help address this issue. Carefully tailored exercises and skills are taught each week to help improve and manage the behavior. The goal is to have your dog learn alternative behaviors that allow for calmer walks and outings. Space is very limited. You will be asked to provide some background information to make sure this class is a good fit for you. Classes will run Wednesday nights at 5:15pm starting April 3rd.
