Finley is still available! He must have another young playful pup in his new home. HE is VERY cute- in fact cuter than his photos and he is ALL PUPPY. He is fostered in Los Angeles County, CA.
Hello World!
I’m Fabulous Finley, a darling bichon puppy who is six months old and as cute as I can be! I am the most affectionate little guy you could ever hope to meet. I like to meet new people and especially love other dogs. Give me an opportunity to play and I’m your guy!
I’m a smart little guy, almost housebroken and eager to learn what is expected of me. Did I mention that I love all toys— but I have a hard time deciding which one to play with first? Mom says my answer to that is that I try to play with all of them at the same time, going from toy to toy. I love laying on my back and flinging my toys around, until I accidentally launch one in the air and it lands out of reach.
I love walks and car rides and am not a barker. I am just a happy, playful, mischievous, friendly and cuddly puppy. I love chasing other pups and being chased by them.
My Ideal Home:
*Someone home most of the time
*Another YOUNG dog around my age and size
*Another active, playful dog
*Adults or a family
*Kids over 7
Experience level:
*Have had dogs as an adult
*Recent/current dog experience a plus
*Experience raising a puppy a plus plus!
Oh, and one last thing! I love give and receive affection. Sometimes I will come up to Mom and lay my head on her knee. After a quick head massage, I then go back to playing with my toys. When I’m sleepy, sometimes I like to be held. When Mom is holding me, I look up, put my head on her chest, and close my eyes for a nap. So if you are looking for a sweetheart of a bichon, who is cute, friendly, playful and very loving then look no further. Just complete our application— and let’s get together.
See you soon.
Finley, the Friendly and Fabulous Bichon
🎉❤️Big Coco (from Downey) update! ❤️🎉
“Back in January of this year, My wife and I were asked to foster a dog pulled from a shelter in Downey. He was an owner surrender, facing the threat of euthanasia within 2 days. Thankfully, he was pulled out from the shelter and placed under our care. We noticed immediately his apprehension and unwillingness to enter our home avoiding us at all cost. He was severely underweight.
It took days for him to allow us to pet him. In time we developed an amazing bond with Coco. He’s been through a lot including a botched neuter which took a long time to heal. With all that said, he is quite a remarkable poodle-bichon mix. Of all the fosters my wife and I have taken care of, Coco by far has the most amazing personality. He’s very loving, has lots of energy and loves having full conversations with us (yes he talks) . We were foster fails for the 4th time. We love Coco dearly and very happy he is now part of our family.

A very quick 15 seconds of Tansy! That’s a happy tail from Tansy! She’s getting some curls back in her face, too! Doing better every week with this “life” thing! We are so proud of her and grateful for her foster momma for helping her learn to trust again! Have a good Tuesday, everyone!
Bijou
This is a sweet video of 💙Bijou, formerly known as Kimmie. She was adopted on February 14, 2016. She was 2 or 3 years old at the time.
She was also lovingly known as “Cray Cray”! Bijou didn’t really like her own kind (dogs) so she had been to a couple of other foster homes prior to finding her permanent home. Her mom, Sophia, was a foster failure or “irresistible adoption” after just one day. With no other dogs in the home, she fit in perfectly with Sophia.
Unfortunately, this little girl was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer in June of 2023 and was only given one or two months to live. Bijou’s mom cooked all of her meals and made sure she had all the supplements to support her liver health. It worked to extend her life another 7 months past expectations.
On March 30 Bijou passed on leaving her mom heartbroken.
This update was originally to be posted while Bijou was still here,
“I'm just blessed to have her each and every day. I love this little nutcase and thank you so much to this organization for letting me be her mama.”
…but things took a turn before we were able to post her update, so this update is now a memorial.
From Sophia after Bijou left…
“I’m just heartbroken 💔. She was such a special and fun girl. The video starts from the day I adopted her to her very last day.
She will forever be in my heart.”
💙🌈Bijou🌈💙
You were named appropriately, a jewel 💎
Comment by Sophia below-
“Thank you so much everybody. It has been a very surreal month not having her in my life. She was my beautiful special little girl and I miss her so much and she’s hopefully with her sister Angel who passed away in September 2015. Bijou was meant to be mine and I know someday I will have another one. I’m just not ready yet thank you everyone for the sweet messages and for all of you that lost little fur babies as well. I’m truly sorry our babies are forever a part of us.”

Tansy Tuesday Weekly Update #1
▶️ Watch them play! 🐎 🐶
It's Tansy Tuesday!
Time for an update on our little girl (the galloping Bichon in the purple T-Shirt) who was so forlorn at the shelter... and who is now thriving in her foster home.
Last night, Tansy finally felt comfortable enough to sleep in foster mom Judy's bed-- an honor, considering Judy banished the other dogs from the bed because they wouldn't let her sleep! Tansy's own bed is still in the room, in case she decides she prefers her own sleeping quarters.
Tansy has definitely mastered the Bichon Buzz, and she's been a good ringleader in getting the other lazy dogs around the house to play a little bit. Poor girl is surrounded by a bunch of old farts, but they will get a move on when they simply can't avoid her antics.
Tansy had her first walk on Monday as we finally got a beautiful, rain-free day. She didn't trust the harness at first (did it mean she was going in the car back to the shelter or, worse, the groomer's?) so foster mom Judy had to do some coaxing, and soon they were out the door.
At the beginning of the walk, Tansy stayed glued to Judy's legs (which didn't work so well for Judy, as she needed to move them to walk), but seeing Magic and Diggity trotting ahead made her want to join them. Only occasionally peeking back to make sure Judy was still attached to the leash, she pranced along, stopping with the others to sniff out messages left on the "message boards" (trees and bushes) by other dogs who had passed by.
All in all it was a pretty good day for Tansy and friends. She thanks all of her supporters and is glad to have you all cheering her on, as she puts the past behind her and heads toward a happier future!
Shelters are loud and scary places for sensitive souls! Surrendered by his owners for being a dog (not remaining silent!)
Welcome Coco- who shivered his way into our hearts!
Coco’s new beginning starts now!
Coco is decompressing well on a couch, not in a jail! 💜💜💜
