From the first year to yesterday. Hike or Trot has come a long way. Far exceeded any expectations I ever had. Yesterday was beautiful. Couldn't ask for better. Having Emily walk with me finally was such a joy. It humbled her walking that far. She understands the the thought of accomplishment after. As we drove south after,she was like damn,we were there!
I want to give thanks to Ashley Owens Bubba K. Owens their parents for accompanying us with the ponies. Courtney Ciszek for bringing Skylar out to add cuteness to the day. She's adorable! Hannah Fino always surprising me with your company! Then all of you,my friends who donated and supported that keep me coming back year after year.
Then of course Stephanie Clausen Kubarth . You are the true blessing in all of this to have a program like Midwest Therapeutic Riding Program and all your staff,changing kids lives like you do. $5200 raised! More on the way. I'll update later. Thanks for giving me this awesome feeling that I actually matter in this big ole world. I she have taken ibuprofen before bed. Lol.
Can't wait to share our thoughts for next year!!

Luckily the weather next weekend looks better than this weekend.
If you want to join us walking we'll be starting at Russell Rd the beginning of the DPRT about 6:30 on Sunday. We'll have walkers, horseback riders and bikers. We'll be heading south till we decide to turn around. Looking at 26-30 miles.
Whiskey drawing will be next Saturday morning.

I received more donation bottles yesterday!!
Chance to get your donations in for the whiskey raffle are now open until October 20th. I'll do the drawing on the morning of the 21st.
The donation link is working fine. And I do get a list of who donates and amount. So all good there.

As of right now the link works with desktop and iPhone. Androids are having issues. You don't have to have PayPal to donate. There is an option under PayPal to pay with credit or debit card.

This was the finish of my Hike or Trot for MTRP. 36 miles. Around $2500 raised. 2020 was probably my biggest year with $11,000 raised. This all blows my mind thinking about what a guy walking and hopefully asking nicely for help can do. This is a really special organization. Meeting the kids that benefit from what the horses and Stephanie Clausen Kubarth and her staff at Midwest Therapeutic Riding Program do for them, melts your heart.

A big draw to this fundraiser is the bourbon raffle! I work at Antioch Fine Wine & Liquors. Besides having a generous employer that donates, my customers are awesome as well. Right here I have fourteen bottles and I definitely know more are on the way!
Everyone that donates at least $25 will get a ticket in the drawing. For every $25 you will get more. You can only win once. And the drawing will be on Thursday Oct 19th. I'll go live here and post names after. I will also contact winners.
I get a list of donors and how much from MTRP. So no worries in letting me know.

Welcome to the new page! After eight years of doing this I finally figured out how to create it's own page!!
A few weeks left till the hike. I've been receiving some great bourbon donations for the raffle which will happen on Thursday Oct 19th.
For every $25 donated gets you a ticket for the bourbon raffle.
I couldn't have made this a success without all your help and donations! MTRP and I very much appreciate it!
