Mid State Pet Health is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Wednesday from 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 12:00 noon. All emergencies are referred to Mountain View Animal Emergency conveniently located at 13810 Crayton Blvd, Hagerstown, MD 21742. - In home vaccine and well pet services
- Onsite Pharmacy, Online Pharmacy, Purina Direct Pet Foods
- Onsite workup for ears, skin, lumps, etc.
- In home workup for ill pets
- Onsite Serum Chemistry
- Full send out reference lab services
- In home euthanasia with cremation options available

Please understand our current limitations. We will happily assist you with referral should any of these services be needed:
- Diagnostic imaging (Radiographs, Ultrasound, MRI, CT, etc.)
- Hospitalization
- Surgery
- After hours care

A word about our fees and service area: Services are limited to Pennsylvania only. We will travel to sections of Franklin and Cumberland counties that are within a limited travel time from our base in Newburg with a normal trip fee of $53.00. All appointments must be scheduled in advance (we do not provide same day appointments or emergency appts/services). Fees for services should be in line with what you would expect from an average veterinary practice. We’ll happily provide an estimate if needed prior to your appointment. Payment (Cash, Credit Card, Check) is expected at the time of service.

There is a nice article in the Shippensburg news chronicle regarding the annual dog walk for the Cumberland Valley Animal shelter and we recognize the face in the one picture….our very own Brenda Hawbaker. She has participated in this event since 2010 and makes a great effort in raising money for the shelter to help the animals in need.🐾🐾

Brenda participated in the CVAS annual dog walk and contests this morning with her 2 beagles,Lily and Ivy. This is an annual event and fundraiser for the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter. With all of the participants today, they raised over 9000.00. A great big thank you to everyone that donated and participated today. Looking forward to next year🐾🐾

ATTENTION ALL DOG WALK PARTICIPANTS!!

For tomorrows walk, a couple things to think about.

1) Put in the address of 10368 Possum Hollow Rd, Shippensburg, PA 17257. The gate we are using is directly across the street from the Storage buildings.

2) When you pull in, you will see parking to the left. Please park and proceed directly to the registration table. After that, come back and join us for free puppy pictures, games ($1 each), vendors, prizes and contests!

3) We will have some pools set up for puppy drinks or pups that want to play in them…..bring a towel if you need to dry your pup off.

4) We have some agility items set up that your pups are welcome to try out…..you MUST KEEP YOUR PET ON A LEASH.

5) Please be respectful of other dogs and their owners space. Some dogs prefer not having others directly in their face, so give room and don’t just assume everyone should be ok with your dog walking right up to them. Dogs coming to the walk should be friendly, but that does not mean that every single dog is going to automatically like every other dog there.

6) I should not have to say this, but we will and will continue to repeat it PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG!

Overall. This is a fun event to raise money for the animals. Spend a day with your pup (it’s supposed to be beautiful!!) and HAVE FUN!!!!!

Tomorrow is the day for the annual dog walk to benefit the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter. This year, the event is being held at the Shippensburg fair grounds. Registration starts at 9:00 and the walk starts at 10:00. It’s a morning filled with fun, contests and prizes. We hope to see you there.

Folks, unfortunately a stray dog that came into the shelter has tested positive for Parvo. That's an incredibly infectious disease in the dog world and in order to maintain safety, we are CLOSING our dog intake for at least two weeks. That means we will NOT be accepting any stray dogs or owner surrendered dogs during that time. We ask that people look to rescues or other shelters in your area for help until we can open back up again. We are so sorry for the inconvenience, but we want to provide the safest environment for all of our animals. We thank you all for your understanding.

We will happily assist you with referral should any of these services be needed: - Diagnostic imaging (Radiographs, Ultrasound, MRI, CT, etc.) - Hospitalization - Surgery - After hours care A word about our fees and service area: Services are limited to Pennsylvania only. We will gladly travel within 45 minutes of Newburg, PA (17240) when scheduled in advance for our normal trip fee of $45. We schedule our appointments by region for each day. Short notice or longer distance trips may incur a higher trip fee. Fees for services should be in line with or slightly less than you would expect from an average veterinary practice. We’ll happily provide an estimate if needed prior to your appointment. Payment (Cash, Credit Card, Check) is expected at the time of service.
