👮♂️Unfortunately Police K9 handlers usually lack a lot of dog training knowledge since they are not dog trainers. There is usually a short program to pair them with their new K9 buddy and it’s up to the K9 vendor to do proper training. As we can see, especially when stress hits, things go wrong…
My clients don’t even realize it but in my advanced obedience classes I make it stressful so that class is rough but life is easy. This is done on purpose so they can navigate thru chaos with mental clarity unaffected as possible from the external environment.
