Save Off-Leash Dog Walking Areas in the SF Bay Area The GGNRA has an extreme plan to get rid of on- and-off-leash dog areas in the SF Bay Area. Let's keep the Bay Area dog friendly! www.saveoffleash.com

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area has released a proposed rule that severely cuts or entirely bans where people with dogs have been welcomed together for decades in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo counties. The plan affects both on- and off-leash dog walking in recreation areas and trails like Fort Funston, Crissy Field, Ocean Beach, Muir Beach, Marin Headlands and Rancho Corral de Tierr

Democracy loving dogs and their people took over El Rio this week for a happy hour fundraiser for Harris-Walz. We had an all-you-can-scarf doggy biscuit bar (compliments The Animal Company) and adult treats and beverages too. It's not to late to donate: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/dogsfordemocracy

El Rio, 3158 Mission Street, San Francisco

Listen to Lulu: don't sit home worrying about how close the polls are in the presidential election. Instead, join Dogs for Democracy at our paw-some happy hour at El Rio in San Francisco.

Have a drink, enjoy some appetizers and donate to support the only animal-loving candidates in in the race: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. You’ll also be able to learn about other ways you can help.

Did I mention the all-you-can-scarf biscuit bar? Dogs, bring your humans this Wednesday.

Note the comment period has been extended until May 8, 2024.

⚠️ URGENT action needed. Please submit a comment by Tuesday, April 30. NPS is planning to plant endangered and special-status plants that will use dangerous herbicides and require more areas at Fort Funston closed to recreation.

NPS is falsely claiming a new habitat restoration area will help bank swallows survive a 2-year construction project to protect San Francisco's wastewater treatment facility. Bank swallows don’t eat plants, native or not.

See sample comments and submission instructions on SFDOG's wesbite: https://sfdog.org/keep-fort-funston-open (Comments may only be submitted through NPS online form.)
