Over the weekend, we paid our respects to Sharonville Police Department K9, Jack.
After suffering medical complications a few days ago, the difficult decision was made to relieve Jack of his pain and suffering.
Since starting with the department in 2019, Jack apprehended numerous subjects and assisted in countless investigations.
Thank you for your service and keeping our community safe, Jack. 💙
Our thoughts are with the department, Sgt. Lee, and the family during this difficult time of loss.
As we continue to celebrate #NationalVeterinaryTechnicianWeek at Care Center, we want to say "thank you" to each and every one of our wonderful RVTs throughout all of our different departments at both of our hospitals!
Thank you all - for all that you do for our patients, clients, peers, as well as our veterinary community!

We are excited to welcome a new face - and reintroduce a vital service to Care Center! Meet Dr. Chris Bloom, Radiation Oncologist!
Dr. Chris Bloom’s love for animals was fostered from a young age after growing up on a farm in Indiana and being exposed to wildlife rehabilitation. Dr. Bloom was drawn to Radiation Oncology in particular after his experience with a cancer diagnosis in his own pet as he wants to help other pet parents going through a similar experience. The most common types of cancer Dr. Bloom treats are brain tumors and nasal tumors, with a special interest in nasal lymphoma in cats. Dr. Bloom enjoys developing a collaborative relationship between all pet caregivers – including the primary care veterinarian and pet parents.
When Dr. Bloom isn’t saving pets’ lives, he can be found enjoying the outdoors by hiking, mountain climbing, and biking, listening to classical music, or trying out new eateries and wineries in the area.
Help us welcome the newest addition to our Cardiology department at Care Center Cincinnati! We are so excited to have you join our family, Dr. Audrey Restle!
Dr. Audrey Restle received her DVM from Auburn University in 2019. She then went on to complete her rotating internship at Mississippi State University in 2020 before completing her cardiology residency in 2023 at Washington State University. Specializing in cardiology allowed Dr. Restle to focus on a specific region of interest, foster long term relationships with patients and their families, and perform advanced medical interventions.
She looks forward to collaborating with local veterinarians and helping them manage all types of cardiac changes within their patients, with a particular interest in congenital and feline heart disease. In her spare time, Dr. Restle enjoys hiking, camping, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family - including her two dogs Brett and Tyson.
If you need to schedule an appointment with Dr. Restle, give us a call at 513.530.0911.
Help us officially welcome the newest member of our Care Center Cincinnati Emergency department!
Dr. Teri Rae Armstrong received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2022. Soon after, Dr. Armstrong joined the Care Center ER Immerse program, which is intended to offer support and extended training to those veterinarians who are new to emergency medicine. Dr. Armstrong has always had an interest in science and found that veterinary medicine encompassed several different aspects of medicine, making it the perfect field for her.
Along with an interest in science, Dr. Armstrong has a love of pets - with seven dogs (Carlie, Tutu, Howey, Bentley, Lou, Margo, and Phoebe) and two rats (Clover and Poppy) of her own! Dr. Armstrong enjoys working in emergency medicine, as she is able to learn a lot quickly, and see interesting and unusual cases each shift. When she isn’t saving lives in our ER, Dr. Armstrong can be found hiking trails with her dogs, painting, and spending time with her family.
Help us give a big Care Center welcome to Dr. Brian Martin - the newest member of our Cincinnati Surgery team!
Growing up in Southern Virginia on a small farm sparked Dr. Brian Martin’s interest in veterinary medicine. Dr. Martin obtained his DVM and Master’s degree from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 where he met his wife, who is also a veterinarian. He then when on to complete his Small Animal Rotating Internship at VCA Veterinary Care Referral Center in 2007, before completing his Small Animal Surgery Residency at University of Minnesota in 2010. This experience in Minnesota is what grew his appreciation for the Midwest, ultimately moving to the area to continue his veterinary career!
Dr. Martin’s favorite surgeries to perform are those that allow a pet to walk out of the hospital and back to an improved quality of life. He is most interested in those elective orthopedic cases, such as Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO).
In his free time, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters, and their Dachshund Taggie McClaggin, traveling, and spending time outside and on rivers.
Today we, along with several tri-state area police officers, paid our respects to K-9 Officer Cairo. Cairo sadly passed away from medical complications earlier this week.
Cairo and his handler, Police Specialist Michael Harper, started patrolling city streets together in September of 2014. Cairo was utilized for patrol, SWAT, Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, tracking, and drug detection.
Our thoughts are with PS Harper and his family during this difficult time. We thank you for your service, K-9 Cairo. May you rest peacefully. ❤️
