I held a party the other week and grief came.

She wasn’t invited but she came anyway - barged her way in through the door and settled down like she was here to stay.

And then she introduced me to the friends she’d brought with her - Anger. Fear. Frustration. Guilt. Hopelessness.

And they sang in the loudest voices, took up space in every corner of the room and spoke over anyone else that tried to talk.

They made it messy and loud and uncomfortable.

But finally, they left.

And long afterwards, when I was all alone,
I realised there was still someone here.
Quietly clearing up after the rest.

I asked who she was and she told me, “Love.”

And I assumed that’s why she looked familiar - because I had met her before.
“Or perhaps,” she said, “it’s because I’ve been here the whole time.”

And I was confused then because I hadn’t seen her all evening.

But when I looked more closely,
when I looked into her eyes,
I realised quietly that she had been here.
All the time.

She’d just been dressed as grief.

We said goodbye to dear, sweet Champ.
RIP Darling.

We lost our sweet Champ. Nine years wasn’t long enough. It comforts us to know that he is no longer suffering in pain. He was such a good companion. Always so happy, and he LOVED taking pictures, and he smiled for them lol. When my son was younger and would go into timeout, there was Champ who stayed beside him in timeout, too. We had him since he was 7 weeks old, and I feel like a piece of my heart went with him. We love you so much! Thank you for all of the cuddles, kisses, and love you gave each of us!

We lost another angel, farewell darling, farewell.

Our Gracie Grace went over the rainbow bridge to be with Ozzy. She was the sweetest cat, and we will miss her so much!
😢❤️ 🐈‍⬛ 🌈.

We are so grateful for the compassionate service of Peaceful Passage, from the phone calls and communication from the staff, and finally, the appointment at our home with Dr White. It made losing Gracie so much more tolerable.

A heartfelt farewell to a beloved kitty
Fly high sweetheart, know you are loved.

Streep, aka Bub, Bubba, punk, or Runk, our sweet boy, crossed the rainbow bridge. Same as in birth, I held you until the very last breath. You were the most talkative cat I’ve ever had. We will miss your chirps and giving your bone-head kisses. 14 years of loving you was not enough time. I hope you’re somewhere there are millions of cords to chew on. Miss you forever, Bub.

Also, a thank you to Dr.White. Her care and compassion are unmatched. This experience would not have been peaceful without
her.

Farewell, sweetheart, know you are so loved.

Thank you for absolutely everything. I was unsure how to navigate 5 kids and a bonded sister with the departure of our beloved Phoenix. He was so much to everyone. You brought him dignity and availability for all of us to grieve his passing in the comfort of our own home.
