Molly gained her wings last night. Her light was way too big to be bound by a body that worked differently than most, although she never let it slow her down. She always figured out a way to get what she wanted, and she did it with class, sass, and an incredible will. Sometimes she was so full of happiness that she just had to "dance it out" in her sassy pants, and she did this often.

Over the course of her life she touched so many people. She met Jenna Bush Hager and was featured on the Today Show, she's been on PBS specials as well as the DoDo and We Rate Dogs. She made ESPN's Top 10 list on Sportscenter and was featured in a Bionic Pets special. For years she attended major Golden events like Goldstock, where she won Sweetest Girl one year, and Dewey's Golden Jubilee. Her portrait became one of the standard cards for Pumpernickel Press. She was even featured in a UK magazine in an article titled, "These Boots are made for Walkies!" Over the years she has been a demo dog to help teach Vet students about handling dogs with unique physicalities, and she helped raise thousands of dollars for GRREAT and awareness that physical disabilities are only a detail.

She loved catching tennis balls and rolling in the grass. She loved her Spa days at Old Mill and bossing her foster siblings around. But her absolute favorite thing in the world was swimming. She was always leading the charge down the hill for GRREAT's Swim Club, straight down the ramp and into the pool while we ran behind just trying to keep up and throw her rubber bone in fast enough so she could retrieve it.

Her love and trust and acceptance of everything that needed to be done for her health and happiness was a gift, and we are intensely grateful for everything she brought to our lives.

🥹 Playtime is so soft and gentle now...

Molly is handling this last chapter of her life with the same grace and joie de vive that she always has. Today is a good day, a very good day. She's able to do two of her favorite things; play with her tennis balls, and roll in the grass. Her body might not be able to do it like she once could, but that bothers her not at all.

She's happy, and therefore we are too. 🥰

😢 Letting you all know that they found a large mass on Molly's liver yesterday and a smaller one on her spleen. We're changing some of her herbs and food, and starting her on low daily doses of steroids to help her feel better and reduce inflammation. It might even help some of the other issues she’s been having lately. It's not curative but will hopefully keep her feeling well for awhile. We don't have a time frame, we'll just love her everyday for whatever time we have left. For now, she’s happy and is feeling well. 🥰

Happy Fathers Day to the Best Dog Dad ever! 🥰❤️🥰

Hey Everyone, it's been quite a year of ups and downs for Molly, but one big positive, is that she will be celebrating her 13th birthday on March 31st!! 🥳😍

I've been hesitating to send this update because I kept hoping we would be able to get past it, but it looks like Molly now has her final bladder infection. We've been fighting it for about 8 months now and it continues to increase its resistance, no matter what we try. Her last culture showed that there aren't any other antibiotics to try. It appears that the bacteria has colonized her bladder walls and has become resistant to everything.
All hope is not lost, and we're doing everything we can to keep the infection from traveling to her kidneys, which really will be the end.

In the meantime, we've got lots of new treatments and supplements on board to keep her as healthy and happy as possible, for as long as possible. One really neat device is an Ozone machine. Ozone therapy decreases inflammation, pain, and swelling, and also activates the body's immune system. It has germicidal, bactericidal, and fungicidal properties, and can enhance the immune system to help with chronic conditions such as neurologic disease, auto-immune disease, cancer, and allergies.

We give it to Molly in two ways; we bag her legs and let it flow over any open lesions, and we use a re**al catheter to get it inside her body to help fight, or at least contain, the infection.
So far it's working beautifully, she has no open areas on her legs, and the bladder infection has not spread.

We really appreciate everyone's support! Without your donations and positive vibes, we never could have gotten her this far. If you would like to help a little more, you can donate to GRREAT and name her as the recipient (https://grreat.org/donatesupport/), and she also has an Amazon page for her regular necessities (https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2BWA7HQMH26ZQ...)

Thank you for everything, our journey with her has been amazing and we couldn't have done it without you! Fingers crossed that she has more quality time to share. 🥰
