If you didn't already know... Arvid had a peculiar dislike for barks. It was as if they were causing him to recoil in surprise whenever he let out a rare bark. Not only did he despise his own barking, but the barks of other dogs as well. He would tuck his ears back and make a hasty retreat whenever the canine chorus began.
However, there was a twist in this tale. If Arvid happened to be the first one at work with Patrik, he would unleash a symphony of barks upon the arrival of Håkan the Labrador, his four-legged coworker. It was a sight to behold! We're still scratching our heads trying to figure out why. Could it be that Håkan received a stern scolding for oversleeping? Or perhaps there's a secret rivalry between them? The mystery remains unsolved. But here's the catch - if Håkan beat Arvid to the punch and arrived first, not a single bark would escape Arvid's lips. Curious, isn't it?

I just needed me some sausage boy cuteness today. He really looks tiny here but is 11 years old. My heart 🥰😭

Hi everyone! How are you doing today? We had a crisp cold day here and we even got some snow. We were outside in the garden and beeing cold and freezing made me think about Arvid and his blankets!
Did you know Arvid loved blankets? Especially when he was younger. He snuggled, chewed and dragged them around everywhere 🤣.

As I told you in the last post, Arvid got pretty upset when Mr. Wabbit “lost” an arm or leg.
I don’t know how many times I had Mr. Wabbit on the operating table; the whole thing was very dramatic 😂
At some point, I don’t know when, Arvid stopped chewing off parts of his fluffy friends. Gosh…that sounded really bad, didn't it?! 😂😂😂😂

Oh. how I miss lazy Sundays with Arvid. Arvid hated early mornings. He'd sometimes be so mad getting up early to work, that Patrik had to carry him to the car. He refused to walk 😂
On Sundays, we'd let him sleep in. We drank our morning coffee in bed, read the newspaper and took a slow start to the day.
He loved it. He stretched, demanded cuddles, snoozed and snuggled. I miss it.
His part of the bed is so very empty. Last week was the first time in sixteen years I didn't make his bed when I changed the beddings. I couldn't stop myself earlier. I just couldn't.

Arvid had some days he just couldn't wait to talk to you, and others...he refused 😂 We never figured out why. I loved the fact that he only did things if he felt like it. Not to make me happy. A typical dachshund!

This is, to me, a personal sweet moment that I usually wouldn't film. I happend to be filming something else, when Arvid came home from work. It was one of those days when he greeted me with lots and lots of love. Behaving like he missed me all day... really much.
I was lucky to have the camera ready and started to record.
It was one of those everyday, golden moments, that I now, when he's gone, miss the most.
I'm so happy I have it.
Does it sound silly? I don't know why, but it is one of my two favorite videos. There's soooo much love. And the ending is perfect 😂 Of course, he ran of to the kitchen when he was done loving me 😂😂 he alway demanded dinner first thing (sedond this day) after work... I've not translated. It's mostly me asking if he missed me and commeting on how cuddly he was.

Do you remember in 2019 when Arvid fell in love with Stella? He really tried to impress her. Held his fluffy belly in and bounced around like a puppy trying look young and fit 😂 I had forgotten all about it, but found this video in my archive today 😂. It's just too funny not to share again.

Judy Lipford wrote a comment on yesterdays video telling me her favorite videos of Arvid are the ones when he trades toys for treats. I promised to post one.
Although I have many of those, this is one of my favorites. This one really shows his thought process and making good use of all those thinking curl on the top of his head.

Oh how I miss this sound! ❤️😍 Arvid was always checking on me. Especially in the bathroom. Most often he sat and waited for me to be done. If there was important cooking going on with Patrik, he still came and made sure I was OK in the bathroom (no accidental drowning in the toilet), and then he ran back to the kitchen. 😂 This video is from 3 years ago.

Let me tell you something about Arvid that you perhaps didn't know.
Some days, when he came home, after a day at work with Patrik, he'd be extra chatty. We soon realized that those days something had happened at work. He'd been annoyed with his coworker, the drooling labrador, or he'd been told off for something, or someone especially liked customer had been visiting.
Patrik always jokingly called him a snitch 😂

😭😭😭 How I miss him! I'm crying but I have to say, I'm so happy I've taken so many pictures and videos over the years. This one was posted in 2019 and I even named it "collecting memories". I love it! It means so much to have this right now. Please take lots of videos and pictures of your loved ones. When I watch this I remember the feeling of his fur running through my fingers, the warmth of having him on my lap and the love I felt when he looked at me. ❤️
