Dear Clients of Paws Lee County,

Paws Lee County was announced to close, and it is sad and hard to see this happen. Paws Lee County is irreplaceable; however we may think of the word transfer, since you will still be able to obtain the same services at the same location under the name of Paws@Vet.

The condition of non-for-profit organization that Paws Lee County has kept throughout the years were in funds in the form of donations, grants and benefits from the government were received, will be gone forever; but at Paws@Vet we are committed to continue bringing improvements to both clients and patients while keeping affordable prices that you can check on our website pawsatvet.com .

Unfortunately, Paws@Vet will not be able to afford discounted prices for people on public assistance or to continue the TNR program the way some old clients of Paws Lee County were used to. We deeply apologize for these inconveniences and appreciate your understanding.

We hope to have the opportunity to continue helping your furry friend at Paws.

This precious angel was found in the Cape Coral Hospital parking lot in the middle of the afternoon today and brought to our clinic.

All 4 of her paw pads have major burns on them from the hot pavement.
We're not sure how she ended up in a huge parking lot all alone.. It's possible that she was hiding in someone's wheel-well or engine and then jumped out when the car finally came to a stop.
We'll never know. We're just glad she's safe and will have MUCH better days ahead!

She's not even old enough to eat on her own yet and will need to be bottle fed.

Little Tangerine is going into a foster home for a few weeks for some TLC and bottle feeding and as soon as she's 8 weeks old, she'll be ready to find a home of her own.

And yes, she's a rare little orange tabby GIRL!

We just heard about a very worthy fundraiser happening on Fort Myers Beach in 2 weeks, so mark your calendars. 📌

On Friday, April 5th, from 5-8pm, The Liki Tiki BBQ on Fort Myers Beach will be having a benefit for Save Our Strays Feline Rescue.

S.O.S. Feline Rescue is going above and beyond to feed, neuter and provide medical care for the stray cats on the beach and would be grateful for any support.

They're a nonprofit organization and every penny goes directly towards the care of the Beach Cats.

So head to the Liki Tiki for some great food, drinks and entertainment, while helping the kitties.
It's a win-win!

💗 We have 6 tiny visitors this morning! 💗

A good samaritan found these precious babies with their eyes barely open, in a rain puddle and brought them to us.

They were soaking wet and covered in mud.

Our team member Dana jumped into action to get them dried off and warmed up.

They're all resting comfortably and will be picked up shortly by our friends from A Roof for Roofus Rescue to be bottle fed and cared for until they're old enough to be adopted into loving homes.

Thank you to everyone involved for making this a successful rescue.

Our thoughts are with their mama-kitty too and hope that she's faring well in this rainy weather and will be TNR'd someday.. 😔
For anyone with feral / stray cats in their neighborhood, we have a TNR program for them for $45 per cat to be sterilized and vaccinated. Street Cats have such a hard life, but giving them the gift of being spayed and neutered does make things a little easier for them..

Look at this beautiful little face!

Sadie is definitely one-of-a-kind.. In all of our years in rescue, we can't remember seeing another dog who looked just like her.

She's very new to us, so we're not sure how she is with other dogs, cats and children, but she absolutely LOVES people and is an absolute sweetheart. She's very happy and playful.

Sweet Sadie Mae is currently 40 pounds, around 18 months old, spayed, vaccinated and was tested Negative for Heartworm Disease. 🎉

Sadie is being fostered in the shelter area of Paws, but her adoption will be through Theresa, our former clinic director, so if you're interested in meeting her, or have any questions, please call or email Theresa directly at (239)994-2514 or [email protected]

Please share this to help Sadie find her forever home.. She thinks that living at Paws is "okay" for now, but she'd really love a family of her own. 🐾

Please share to help this handsome little guy a new home. He's currently living in a semi-truck, but it's not the ideal fit for him.
He sounds like a very good boy from the post.

They say one person's trash is another person's treasure....

Meet our newest treasure, Dante.

He was abandoned in a N. Ft. Myers community just before Thanksgiving 2023 and hid under a house for almost 4 weeks before being able to be caught by 2 team members from Paws.

He was terrified and confused.

Then he spent almost another week at LCDAS while they kept him on his stray hold and on his last day there, we knew we had to save this beautiful boy and find a forever family.

Once knowing he was safe in foster, he blossomed into the happiest, friendliest good-hearted little guy we've ever known.

He LOVES playing with other dogs. He's good with cats and doesn't have a mean bone in his body towards people either.

He's approximately 18 months old and currently weighs 43 pounds..

His ideal home will have a fenced in yard for plenty of playtime.

We are so grateful to have pulled him from the county shelter. He is absolutely deserving of a second chance and finding a family who treasures him as much as we do.

If you'd like to meet Dante, please email or call our clinic and we'll gladly set up an appointment for a meet and greet.

💚Meet Kashi, the emerald eyed beauty! 💚

Kashi is yet another victim of the SW Florida Housing Crisis.
When his family had to relocate, he wasn't able to make the move.
There wasn't a dry eye in the house when he was brought to our clinic yesterday.
Fortunately, our friends at A Roof for Roofus Rescue agreed to take Kashi under their wing and help find a new home for him.

He's 3 years old and neutered. He's super easy going, mild mannered and is said to be good with other cats.

If you've got room in your home for this stunning boy, please reach out to A Roof for Roofus Rescue for adoption details.

Dante is enjoying his new, fluffy comforter, courtesy of The Schladt Family Christmas Party and Pet Supply Drive.

There was all kinds of bedding, toys, treats, food and other necessities. Our resident dogs and foster dogs are very grateful!

Paws Leecounty was their charity this year and we greatly appreciate their kindness!

Dante was recently pulled from Lee County Domestic Animal Services and is almost finished with his quarantine-period before being available for adoption.

We've already received a very promising adoption application for him, so fingers crossed! 🤞🤞🤞

To Annie Schladt & Mike Schladt, we THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

**ON A HOME VISIT**

Dante is a sweet and happy little guy who would love to have a forever-family.
He's about 2 years old and 42 pounds.
One of the friendliest dogs we've met in awhile.
Please email us at [email protected] if you'd like to meet him.

While you're out shopping for those last minute gifts at the Gulf Coast Town Center on the weekend right before Christmas, be sure to stop into PetCo and check out all of the beautiful kittens and cats who have been waiting to meet their forever families.

Their adoption fees are only $50.00 (FULLY vetted) which is really an incredible value.
If you were to fully vet a cat at a regular local Animal Hospital, you'd easily spend $300.00.

If you and your family have been considering adopting a cat or kitten, this will be the time to do it.

Friday night - December 22nd, from 6:00 - 8:00pm and Saturday afternoon, December 23rd from 11:00 -3:00pm.

❤️🤍💚 The cuteness awaits!! 💚🤍❤️

🌀 It's that time of the year again... 🌀

We're hoping for a very uneventful storm season over the next 8 weeks, but it's always better to prepare..

If your pet is already microchipped and it's been awhile since you've had them scanned, it's recommended that you take your pet to any Vet's office and ask them to scan for their chip; just to make sure that it hasn't worked it's way out or migrated to a different location of their body.
If your pet isn't microchipped, it's always a great idea to do so.
Not only can a microchip help reunite you and your beloved pet, but it can also help reduce the price of your Lee County pet license each year.
It's a win-win.
