Happy Tails Dog Park Welcome to Happy Tails Dog Park! We are a tax deductible organization. It is 50+ acres in size.

Happy Tails Dog Park in Chippewa Falls is situated on a City owned parcel of land that is entirely fenced and gated. Currently, there is an 8000 sq ft small dog area, and the large dog is nearly 50 acres! Any size dogs are welcome in the big dog area, but timid and shy little guys are recommended to try out the small dog area first. Large dogs (over 30 pounds) are welcome in the small dog enclosur

e (if there are no small dogs using it). There is a walking trail around the perimeter that measures a tad over 1-mile! There are benches situated all along this trail, for those who want to take a little breather. Also, the center of the park sometimes has small pond and lots of immature trees - for now. Because this site is a dual use park (it is also a storm water retention and overflow area), we ask that users stay away from the grates - both canine and humans. There are some fences and guards, but this is a gentle reminder that dogs must be kept under control by the handler/owner at all times. There is water a station for dogs, dog rinsing and a water fountain for humans to refresh at after a vigorous walk.

FYI,
Yesterday, Mike Hucek's friend Gary Bearden (GB Builders) bored the hole for the concrete base for the 20-foot pole to hang the solar light.

His skid steer and hydraulic auger smoothly cut thru the dirt like it was butter. About 15-minute job.

Thanks to Mike for enlisting his friend. A lot of sweating and muscle strain was avoided.

The next steps:
1. Purchase 10 to12 bags of concrete from Ace Hardware before Saturday morning.
2. Saturday morning (8:30 am), we will:
a. Install a water hose from the water fountain to Sonotube area.
b. Mixed batches of concrete with water in a wheelbarrow.
c. Empty the wheelbarrow contents in the Sonotube.
d. Insert the pole mounting hardware into top of the wet concrete.
e. Carefully SMOOTH and LEVEL the concrete surface.
3. Hopefully, I will get a couple of other volunteers to mix concrete.
4. Let the concrete cure for at least 7 to 10 days.
5. Schedule the pole and light installation.

So far so good.

Recently a new multi-station water fountain was installed under the large pavilion. The Jayna Kelley Foundation donated the funds for the purchase of the fountain. The Jayna Kelly Foundation is non-profit created by Robin and Brian Kelley to honor and remember their daughter Jayna Kelley. We are very appreciative that they choose to support the park in the memory of Jayna.

Our Story

Happy Tails Dog Park in Chippewa Falls welcomes all dogs (that are people and dog friendly) and their owners to come and enjoy our park.

Happy Tails Dog Park is a totally volunteer run, self funded 501C3 non-profit organization, that is situated on a City owned parcel of land 50+ acres that is entirely fenced and gated.

The park charges $3.00 per day for use(envelopes for daily permits at the park) or yearly permits are available for purchase at Chippewa Falls Police Department or the Parks and Rec Department downtown Chippewa Falls (proof of rabies required).

Currently, there is an 50 acre area that is a dual use water retention area, 15000 sq ft large dog area, a 1200 sq ft small dog area. There is a walking trail around the perimeter that measures about 1-mile, with benches situated all along this trail, for those who want to take a little breather. As the center of the park sometimes has water, we suggest to bring along a towel for your pooch. We ask that users stay away from the grates - both canine and humans. There are some fences and guards, but this is a gentle reminder that dogs must be kept under control by the handler/owner at all times. Drinking water is available seasonally and shut off for winter so plan accordingly. Dog waste bags are provided as are disposal cans. A port-a-potty is available just off the paved parking lot.
