MEET THE NATIONAL TEAM

NEIL KELLY & BRONX HANOVER

Neil and Bronx are a dynamic duo to say the least! These two are our satellite team from Massachusetts. They have competed on several show circuits across New England including most recently Top 3 placings at PtHA. Bronx Hanover is no stranger to a booming career; she started life as a race horse (banking over $50,000) and then went on to become a broodmare to three. Now, she is in career #3 as a show horse.

Neil & Bronx are heading down to New Jersey for their first Standardbred Nationals this week.

MEET THE NATIONAL TEAM:

GRETCHEN GLASKO

As the youth member of the National squad, Gretchen holds her own in the show pen whether it be in the pleasure ring, gaming pen or dressage ring. Gretchen competed this summer grabbing Year End honors in several events at TSHA; one of the largest open series in the northeast.

Gretchen will compete at her first Standardbred Nationals this week aboard none other than Bandini.

MEET THE NATIONAL TEAM:

MAXIE MAN

Maxie Man, a retiree of Crawford Farms and an MMXX adoptee, never quite made the races, but in just three short months he's been retrained for a new career in the show ring. Max excels at HUS and pleasure events. He has two wins on the PtHA circuit; a nationally pointed series primarily for stock breeds.

He will be shipping down to New Jersey this week to compete at his first Standardbred Nationals for adopter and rider, Grace Glasko.

MEET THE NATIONAL TEAM:

BANDINI

Bandini, an original member of the MMXX Show Team, is the very reason MMXX Standardbreds exists. Years after his racing career conclusion, he found himself in a Pennsylvania kill pen after working as an Amish plow horse. He was identified and rescued in February of 2021 severely malnourished and infected with strangles. In August 2021, he competed in his first show: Standardbred Nationals where he led the team in top pinnings under Hannah Boucher. Bandini is an example of the strength, grit and versatility of this breed. His rescue inspired the MMXX Standardbred Adoption Program.

Bandini will celebrate his show ring retirement at age 20 in New Jersey after representing the team one last time at the 2025 Standardbred National Horse Show. He will be piloted by MMXX original member Dana Ziter, and our youth rider, Gretchen Glasko.

If not for his freezebrand, Bandini may not be here today. We are kindly asking the US Trotting Association to reinstate freezebrands so that more success stories like Bandini may be had.

MEET THE NATIONAL TEAM:

MAC SHAMUS

Mac Shamus joined the MMXX Show Team in 2024 and was adopted to an amazing home at the conclusion of the show season. His owners had him return for another year and he's exceeded expectations with championships won this year at both Tristate Horsemens Association, Connecticut Colorbreed Association circuits. Mac Shamus was awarded the SPHO-NJ Rookie of the Year Award in 2024 for being the highest pointed Standardbred in its first year of showing, which is remarkable considering he was also bailed from a kill pen just months before beginning his first show season.

Mac Shamus returns for his second Standardbred Nationals in New Jersey next week under the piloting of Mac Moore. He is owned by Caitlin Dorsett and Family.
