I don't follow the tradition deworming cycle. So wanted to share my thoughts on it:

I deworm in the spring and fall when there's a good solid frost, but other then that I let my horses tell me if they need to be dewormed.

Signs your horse might need to be dewormed:
Dull coat
Weight loss
Itching their tail/butt
Loss of appetite

These are just a few, but are the main ones I look for! I also recommend deworming on a full moon, and always recommend apple flavored dewormer.

A few things I consider before deworming:
Will I be around for the next few hours and days. On rare occasions deworming can cause colic, so it's best to monitor your horses for 24-72 hours post deworming.

Secondly, I check for any drastic changes in the weather. Deworming can be stressful on the horses body, so we want to set them up for success and deworm when the weather isn't having drastic changes.

These are just a few tidbits that I use; let me know if this was helpful for you and what things you consider when deworming your horses.

I need someone strong enough to pull a cart..
But gentle enough to love a child..
Smart enough to protect his master..
Charismatic enough to bring joy to the soul..
Someone with so much love they can lift the spirits of a broken heart..

And then there was the horse🐴✨

That's a wrap to the summer season -- always such a bittersweet feeling!!

A huge thank you to my amazing herd of horses that makes this all possible!! My horses show up to each and every session willing to hold space, teach life skills and be a best friend to each rider that swings a leg over their back.

A huge thank you to all of our riders! Thank you for choosing us to be apart of your horse journey, along with your personal journey. Every rider that steps foot in this barn holds a special place in our hearts.

A huge thank to my amazing staff! Sarah has been a great addition to our crew and it's been so fun hearing all the positive feedback from her riders this summer! Siri will be taking a short break, as the rolls at her full time job have become more demanding for this season, but she'll be back soon!

Cheers to a wonderful fall season ahead🐴🍂

Welcome to Hoof Prints on the Heart

“It all started as a dream”

As a young girl with the weight of the world’s expectations, I was drawn to the unconditional and affirming love of my horse. A hoof print on my heart was placed to help others now experience that bond of a horse and a rider...freedom to trust, to hope and to love again.

Meet Savannah Syverson, owner: I was born and raised on a buffalo ranch located just outside of Aneta, ND. From a very young age, horses have been my life and a dream come true, now that I get to share my passion with others. In 2016, I was North Dakota’s 3D NBHA Grand Champion and 2 time World Championship Qualifier. Growing up, horses have taught me many life lessons in responsibility, dedication and resiliency. Each day, I help my students break down barriers and build trust so they can learn new skills and gain a connection with their horse. Students learn coordination, equine responsibilities, work ethic, focus and a positive attitude, while building confidence in themselves and establishing a growth mindset. Along with this, each rider gets the hands on experience of horsemanship from leading, grooming and saddling to beginner and advance riding...the opportunities are limitless! Encouraging my students that dreams are attainable: step by step, stirrup by stirrup, starting again and again, until they have reached their goal!
