i’ve been trying to find the words for the past few hours in my head of how to write this in a professional manner. but my heart says to write what i feel. right now my heart is truly broken. i’ve lost one of the best dogs i’ve ever met in my life , a dog who was truly one of a kind.
Austin came into my life 8 years ago as a rescue and parked his furry backside firmly in my heart.
He has been there through highs and lows of my life and has been a corner stone of the Underdog training team along side his brother Lenny.
He also won the heart of his mammy Ciara who has been in love with him since day one 7 years ago and the feeling was truly reciprocated and between us we have many fond memories of this goofy collie cross.
Sadly yesterday we had come to the fork in the road where we went on and he left us for rainbow bridge. i write this with tears filling my eyes i still can’t comprehend that yesterday morning he was happy as larry and last night there is an empty place in our hearts. many a rescue dog has come out of their shell due to his soft nature and his little brother taylor learnt alot from him and the grieving process begins for both man and canine alike.
RIP Ausman i’ll love you forever. Unti

This lovely duo are sid and nancy. Rescued together from horrible conditions now with their mom denise.
Having settled in and having made themselves at home they now are learning to walk on a lead and not try to pull their mum off her feet.
They are very sweet ❤️ and willing to learn quickly.
Pulling on the lead and trying to chase cats is very common in all breeds and easily rectified with a little education If you have similar problems please don’t hesitate to message me Underdog training
As a lot of my followers are aware the number of dogs looking for new homes in Ireland is insane. There are thousands of dogs in rescue centres through no fault of their own just that life dealt them a bad hand in their lives to begin with. However being a dog trainer and also as part of a rescue who also amazing work with dogs cats horses donkeys pigs goats and many more you meet a lot of the discarded dogs who are actually the most amazing animals I have ever had the pleasure to meet.
One such dog is lee. He is a 10 month old Shepard boy and loves nothing more then to do tricks and to go for a walk. Being a youngster he is still learning and he is so unbelievably smart it’s unreal. I had the pleasure of walking with Lee yesterday and to say he was amazing is an understatement.
A lot of people think young dogs are hyper all the time. This don’t always the case as it takes them time to learn the proper way to behave as a dog and to look to humans as leaders. A tip I give a lot of my clients when we first meet is to make the training as fun as possible and to have fun themselves and to remember that just like infant children young dogs take time to make the best decision and will make mistakes along the way. It’s all part of the process.
With that said I would recommend a rescue dog any day of the week and majority of my clients are rescue dog owners who preach the same. If you ever decide to bring a dog into your pack please consider a rescue.

A great analogy that I use when explaining about dogs and humans communicating is as follows:
Imagine you have two children from different countries and they speak different languages. Let’s say Spanish and English for argument’s sake.
These children are unable to communicate verbally as their dialect is different.
So if you have a child who speaks both languages that can convey what the other is saying. That way everyone understands.
This is why my dogs are the biggest heroes for my work.
As you can see with Austin in the video he’s a very patient dog and brings scouts energy down and communicates through body language.

Scout is doing great and her owner is doing great work too
This is scout. She is a 1 year old rescue malnois that was taken from Her litter too early and never Learnt to socialise with other dogs properly.

Archie came into the care of my good friends at My Lovely Horse Rescue. Without whom none of this would be possible.
He was a confused young
Dog who only knew fear and thus had to protect himself from everything and everyone.
He was dog aggressive and had been known to be a bit of a bold boy at times. But through the determination of a few people who never gave up on him and with a bit of basic training Archie has joined my pack and is loving life.

Please bear in mind that the muzzle is to keep Archie from getting into trouble should he nip another dog.
He is still in training too.
So it’s safe to say it’s not only dogs that loved to train 😂. Very special friend Pearl making sure I know what I’m doing 😂
