This baby is Butch! 🥰 Butch is a great example of the 3 day rule! Butch got to his new home acting very shy… He was overwhelmed about the huge change and new person. After 3 days with his person he became comfortable enough to be himself. ❤️

This is an educational post about molting! Now what is molting? Molting is when a bird is changing feathers which happens about 1-3 times a year depending on the type of bird. Budgies start at about 3-4 months but larger birds don’t molt until about 6 months - a year old. Molting is extremely uncomfortable for a bird and can cause them to be easily irritated. How can you calm your bird down during a molt? There isn’t a lot you can do but always make sure your bird has fresh water to bathe in as it helps them feel a little better and as always respect their boundaries. This is a video of Pippin! Pippin is normally such a sweet baby who loves her person but when her first molt hit at around 4 months she was acting very differently… She was pecking and screaming at her person which was a new behavior. Molting will bring out the bad in your bird but once they are done they will have the most beautiful feathers! ☺️

Welcome to my page! For those of you that don’t know my name is Briza. I am a bird breeder located in Woodburn, Oregon. I specialize in a variety of parakeets and I also breed some conures. I have experience with all kinds of birds and have been around them my whole life! I have only been breeding birds since the year 2020. I made this page for people who aren’t on instagram. I will be using this page to keep people updated on babies and will try posting some educational things! I try to keep in touch with everyone after they have adopted a bird and I am always happy to answer any of your questions and help solve any problems. ☺️ Wether you have adopted a bird or plan to adopt one from me or anyone else don’t hesitate to reach out! I am always happy to help! 🙂 When reaching out I will respond quickest to email. There is only one of me replying to all the messages so please keep that into consideration but I am normally pretty quick at getting back to everyone.
