Hello wonderful people! Right off the bat I want so say how sorry I am that it has taken me so long to make this update post. I’ve actually tried several times over the months since my last post but I just haven’t been able to for one reason or another. So before I get into what’s next I want to touch on that a bit.

If you read my last post and have been a follower for a while you know that I lost my mom in April. She had been on a cancer journey that had started all the way back in 2016. We were fortunate enough to have a five year remission in there but from 2021-2024 it was a constant in our lives. And while her passing wasn’t necessarily unexpected it was unexpectedly sudden. We thought we had more time, me and my family just weren’t ready. Although something I’ve realized is that no matter what we would’ve never been ready.

My mom was not only my mom but she was my best friend and my absolute favorite person. Loosing her has been the single most devastating thing I’ve gone through. She was ingrained in every single aspect of my life - and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. But it’s made living without her especially difficult and painful because there is no place I can go or activity I can do as a respite from grief.

Which brings me to where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing for the past year (plus) the shop has been closed. Of course the start of last year I was just trying to enjoy every minute I was given with my mom. And then after I lost her I was honestly trying to figure out how to live without her and who I am as a person. Both of which I’m still struggling to do.
For the past three years I have been my mom’s primary care taker, and when we lost her there was very much the feeling and question of “what now?” and real sense of loss of purpose. I realized I lost myself in those three years of caretaking - and I say that without an ounce of regret, remorse or resentment. I wouldn’t have changed anything. It was an honor to be able to care for my mom. It’s just simply what happens to caretakers I’ve learned. (cont. in comments)

This is a post that I was hoping I wouldn’t have to make quite yet, or ever really no matter how irrational that was. Many of you have followed along with my moms - or Momma R as many of you affectionately call her - journey with cancer. In early April her journey came to an end.

Everything happened so fast at the end. One day we were making plans and then the next things changed on a dime. But I guess with this disease that’s not uncommon.
While her passing wasn’t how we envisioned it when we initially started with hospice it was peaceful and she was in no pain when she left. I was by her side with my brother on the phone with me when she passed at 8:22am - her birthday. For those who knew her you know she couldn’t leave without adding a bit of extra flare.

I’ve held of making this announcement because I’ve been going through so many emotions and feelings and ups and down. And to be honest I just couldn’t. As I’ve said to my friends and family doing things like this adds another layer of finality that I’m still very much struggling with.
For those of you who have followed me for a while you know that my mom is my best friend, biggest inspiration, biggest supporter and also part of B&B. Every day I am acutely aware that she is missing in so many aspects in my life.

I know many of you have been waiting patiently for the shop to reopen or at least get some kind of sense of when that might be. I’m sorry, but I just don’t have an answer to that right now. I do know that I will reopen and Belle & Bark is far from finished.
I ask that you be patient with me while I try to learn how to live without my mom and best friend while trying to do what needs to be and when I’m still very much in the grieving process.

I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who have been so supportive of me and my mother the past few years when as her journey became more difficult. You prayers, good vibes, well wishes, virtual hugs, supportive words and everything else you gave meant the world to me and mom. And I truly believe they worked as we got “extra” time. That time is something that I will forever be grateful for.

Evening all! I have several Eco Camvas fabric bandanas left from my Instagram sale and wanted to see if any of you lovely people would be interested.
I’d rather not list them in the shop as they’re limited edition/won’t be added as a staple and don’t want to confuse people.
I’ll go ahead and add a video in the comments of what I have and the size chart as well. Also, each bandana comes with two snaps but I’m happy to add one in between when asked.

The shop is OPEN! 🥳

Okay folks, the time has come. The shop is officially open and ready for y’all! You’ll find lots of new prints, bows, and flowers along with some premade headbands and key fobs.
You may also notice that the shop looks a little different. Over my break I worked to organize things and make it less overwhelming.

I want to take a minute to say thank you once again for all your patience and support during my break. I was so nervous to take the time but you all made it so much easier with your kind words and encouragement.

And now I am so excited to start making for y’all again. I don’t know what the future holds and I’m sure there will be ups and downs and times I may need to ask for your patience again. But for right now I am going to enjoy being open again and start making all the things for y’all!

Hi y’all! I’m popping on because there’s going to be a slight change of plans. You’ve been so patient and I’m going to ask you to be patient for one - maybe two - more additional days. That’s to say, I had every intention of opening the store tomorrow but a couple of things came up last minute so I’m going to have to push the reopening until Sunday, possibly Monday.
I am so sorry y’all. Like I said you have been so patient with me and my ever changing timeline and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. I feel bad pushing the opening but I’m too old to pull all nighters and all dayers now lol.

Here comes trouble…and boy is trouble handsome!

I’m sorry I haven’t posted but it’s been crunch time over here in anticipation of the opening on Saturday! I have to say, I’m really excited to be opening and to start making for y’all again but I’m a bit nervous as well.
But let’s focus on the fun stuff shall we? Like all the new prints that will be available, so many premade headbands and the prospect of bandanas being added to the shop.

If you’ve been following along in my stories over the past month or so you’ll know that bandanas are coming to B&B! And before I reopen the shop I’ve decided to do a Ready to Ship Sale of eco fabric bandanas!

Note - this will be your last chance to snag an eco fabric accessory as they will no longer be an option in the shop.

Okay, now for the important stuff! ⬇️

• WHEN
Sale is Sunday, April 23rd @ 3pm and will take place in my stories

• BANDANA SIZING
XS ~ 8-10”
S ~ 10-12”
M ~ 12-14”
M/L ~ 14-16”
L ~ 16-18”
XL ~ 18-20”
XXL ~ 20-23”
- if your dog is the last number in the range I would suggest sizing up so you won’t be on the last snap

• HOW TO ORDER
I will post each bandana available as its own story on Sunday. To claim, simply reply to the story “SOLD”.
•This is a first come first serve basis. So the first person to reply will snag the bandana. The replies after that I’ll message and let you know it’s no longer available.
I’ll also try to update stories as fast as possible to take down what has been claimed.

• IMPORTANT INFO
- All bandanas are premade, made of Eco Canvas fabric and will have two snaps (except XXL which has three)
- Bandanas will range from $19-25 (shipping not included)
- Invoices will be sent through PayPal or Venmo as the shop is still closed 😊

Alright y’all I’ve been teasing these for a bit and now that my wonderful reps have tested and given feedback I’m excited to share with you that reversible snap bandanas will be coming to Belle & Bark!

And you my lovely Instagram friends will be the first ones to be able to snag a bandana with a RTS sale! The date is still TBD but there will be premade and ready to ship bandanas in a variety of sizes and prints. And this batch will be all in the Eco Adventure Fabric, which is perfect for spring and summer!

How to use your bows!

‼️ SHOP UPDATE ‼️ Hello friends! With everything that’s happening right now in the world I wanted to pop on a give you all an update on the shop. While I am trying to maintain the business as usual attitude we all know that it is not business as usual. . So first things first, the shop will remain open as long as it’s able. Meaning as long as the postal service is still running so will I! My plan is to launch the spring prints in the beginning of April and as of now that has not changed. . Please know that I am taking this situation very seriously and am following all safety guidelines given. I am making sure the work area is kept clean and sanitized and I’m staying put as much as possible. For my own sake, the sake of my mother who is at higher risk and for those around me. I encourage you all to do the same. If you are able stay home and when you are out make sure to practice social distancing. Hopefully if people follow these guidelines we can help get this pandemic under control . Belle & Bark is my full time job and I truly love it, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t worried that it is at a time like this. I know like so many of my fellow small business owners this is sole my source of income and when a situation like this arises where people are saving and we definitely feel it. With that being said if you are able please shop small and shop local. It’s these businesses that are counting on you to help them make it through and to stay afloat.
