Bella and her Polkadog Fish Sticks: A Love Story
This video from last year popped up in my phone memories and cracked me up so much so I thought I’d share how her obsession with fish sticks began.
It all started years ago when a I bought her a package of Polkadog Cod Skins when we were on vacation. You know cause our pups deserve treats on vacation too! Haha That night I gave her one at 8:00. All it took was one and she was hooked! The next night at 8:00 she looked at me, looked at the fish sticks on the counter like “hey, gimme one”. Now years and years later, at 16 years old, she still asks for one nearly every night 😂
How can I say no to her??

The Fourth of July is next week! Do you have a plan for your dog?
Having a plan for your dog is so important. Especially if it’s a new to you dog that hasn’t been with you for the 4th of July!
Part of my plan always includes having calming supplements for Bella. This is your last minute reminder to order any calming supplements you may need so you get them in time to keep your dog calm for all the fireworks festivities coming up. Here in Los Angeles it’s already started 🫠
My favorite is Lick’s Zen. I’ve used this for at least 6 years with multiple dogs and it really makes a difference. For Bella I use it primarily for noise, like fireworks, but also bring it on trips incase she’s unsettled in our hotel. I also used it for my precious dog Dorothy who had dementia and would pace all night. Licks Zen was the only thing that would help her sleep! Which was good for both of us. @lickspillfree

With things heating up it’s time to make some Blueberries and Cream coolers for your pup 🧊
These are so easy to make and only two ingredients!
First place your silicone mold on a tray of some kind to keep it steady. This will make putting them in the freezer very easy.
Place a few frozen or fresh blueberries in the mold of your choice. Then cover with your goats milk of choice. I used the Raw Boosters Goats Milk powder by @honestkitchen It’s super easy to mix up!
Then place in the freezer for a few hours until frozen and give to your pup! It’s perfect to help cool off on these hot summer days!
I store mine in a freezer safe container and then give them to Bella as a treat on these hot summer days.

I hadn’t checked on this story in a while and I’m glad I did because it’s official Bobi was not the world’s oldest dog!
Shame on Guinea’s Records for even suggesting this was true.

I made a bunch of collar flowers this week! These are so fun to add a pop of color on your dog. They go on on the collar with Velcro but I’ve also seen people put it on their dogs leash or harness too!
Also made some cute poop bag dispensers. These are so handy to have for walk time. I keep mine clipped to the extra D ring on Bella’s leash but it will also fit on the leash handle if it’s 1” or smaller. I like to put an extra roll of poop bags in mine and you can fit other small things you might need on a walk.
Last I made this custom leash in a 3’ length. I love the tie dye design too!

Take a walk with us in Morro Bay! 🪨
Last week we were on vacation and we had a beautiful walk in Morro Bay. Well we had many but this one I remembered to video. It was such a beautiful morning. One of the clouds had a rainbow, not a real rainbow but a cloud rainbow. I don’t know what it’s called but it was beautiful 😍
I try and walk as many places as we can when we aren’t at home. At home, in LA, we usually just walk around the neighborhood since traffic here makes everything take so much longer I don’t have the patience. Thankfully we love our neighborhood and our neighbors.

IT’S RAINING!!! 🌧️ ☔️ This audio was too funny not to use 😂 #LAlife We are actually fine where we are. This audio is funny and very stereotypical of LA but in all seriousness there is lots of flooding all around our area and some areas are dealing with mud slides. We got 5” of rain where we are in the last 24 hours and they are saying we should get at least another inch in the next day. Some areas got up to 10” it’s really crazy. It finally stopped raining so hard for a little bit and we were able to get a little walk while it was drizzling. Too bad it was right in the middle of when I was altering this rain coat I bought for Bella 😂 that’s why there’s little clips all over it. She was totally embarrassed 😆 I couldn’t miss our only opportunity for a walk today! How’s the weather where you are?

Easy Enrichment with things you probably already have - toilet paper roll and kibble edition. I have been making these for Bella for years and years and years! It’s so easy and you probably have both items. Empty toilet paper rolls (you can also cut down paper towel rolls) and kibble or treats. Today I used @honestkitchen clusters. This couldn’t be easier just close one end by folding the edges down on both sides, add some kibble or treats, and close up the other end. Viola! You have some fun for your dog. I always supervise Bella with any food enrichment and especially since she will test these to pieces so it’s always good to keep an eye on her. I suggest you do the same for your pup. I also love how while we were out having fun our yard squirrel Annabelle was curious and wanted in on the action too! 🐿️ Maybe I should make one for her next time! Will you try this with your dog?
