We’re up and running just in time for riding weather in Maryland! Long walks in the longer days are just what we need right now. Horses and I are all slowly building base fitness back and getting ready for whatever comes this year.

I hope you savored as much life as possible in 2024 and are bringing all the lessons and learnings forward into the new year. Ease up on the pressure - You can start over whenever you want. Any tomorrow morning holds just as much promise and possibility as the next. Let life this year be informed and shaped by your truest desires 💜 #heal #SavorTheMoment
Milo once again showed he’s worth the effort of producing, easily and without any doubt schooling cross country like a pro 👑
My nerves seem so silly now- ditch, bank, water, anything else I pointed him at, all no problem.
Nerves and fear are perfectly normal things to feel, they’re showing me where to grow. Of course we can do this!

In reality this ribbon does mean some things to me…
Of course it means that we performed 2nd best of the entries on the show day and earned a 65% in the judge’s opinion. Which means that we’re heading the right direction with our training, and our relationship allows a certain amount of that training to remain present when performing. 💪🏻
It also reflects the time and focus I’ve been putting in to heal, learn to regulate my nervous system, and update my triggers with @nataliehummelcoaching ❤️
Competing has been a source of stress and anxiety for me, but my horse doesn’t need to know that. I have to be responsible for my mental state so we can show up together and perform, to show off his abilities. It’s in my best interest to be present, focused, and fit both physically and mentally.
My little #ottb is a star 🌟

Footwork for Shadowplay and position for Anna 🌟 grid work pays off!
Shadowplay focusing on lateral steps ahead of our 2nd Level debut in a couple weeks 🕺🏻We got this bud!
We’re back! After getting the ’go ahead’ from our respective doctors, Carter and I are jumping again!
What, like trotting a flower box is hard? Milo is learning balance, rhythm, footwork, contact, self carriage, straightness, and building muscles all at once with this “simple” exercise! 💙

Posey @ MVEA Derby July 3, 2020
Here's Fat / "Posey" finished 2nd in the Starter level Derby presented by MVEA at Twin Towers Park. We were one second off the optimum time with no jumping penalties! She is available for sale - info below.
Posey is a 2018 graduate of New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program and has been well restarted and brought along in a professional program. She is super sweet with a very kind eye, she loves everyone she's ever met- horse and human alike.
She has completed local Mini Trials and is schooling BN under a confident rider, and has plenty of ability for more! She easily jumps 3'+ in the chute with perfect form and is very careful over fences. She also hacks out nicely, is happy to work on her own or with company, trailers well, and is perfectly herself away from home. She was adopted with intention for use in riding lessons which she has done beautifully, and is now ready for her own person to move forward with.
Posey will be a great partner for a YR or AA rider in a program looking to move through the levels, or enjoy pleasure riding. She could continue in eventing, do straight jumpers, and would be a fun and reliable hunting and trail riding partner. While sensible and sane, she's a forward ride and will do best with a strong, competent rider in performance disciplines. Posey prefers jumping to flat work, she is easily rideable to fences and will jump anything in the arena. She's still learning about cross country and needs a confident a patient rider to continue a proper education on different types of fences. Her friendly personality is also well suited to a pleasure lifestyle of babysitting the horses at home and getting loved on. She is the same horse whether ridden daily or once a week. She's a quick learner, and the more you ask of her, the better she performs!
Posey last raced in 2016, retired perfectly sound with no previous injuries after earning $55k at the track, and was retained by her breeder for let down time at home. She has a super sweet personality
