Veterinary Assistant – Small Animal Practice

Madison Animal Care Hospital is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant to support
our small animal practice. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal health, client service,
and working in a collaborative clinical environment.

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
*Assist veterinarians and technicians during small animal exams, procedures, and surgeries
*Safely and compassionately handle and restrain dogs and cats
*Prepare exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment for daily use
*Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under supervision
*Perform routine lab tests and process samples (fecals, bloodwork, urinalysis)
*Provide outstanding client communication and patient care
*Maintain accurate medical records and ensure a clean, organized facility
Qualifications:
*Previous experience of at least 2 years in a small animal veterinary setting
*Strong animal handling skills and confidence working with dogs and cats
*Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented
*High school diploma or equivalent required
*Licensed Technician degree preferred but not required
