My Perfectly Damaged Dogs Rescue dogs Lily and Bertha... and a couple of cats Lily (Tiger Lily formally) was adopted in 2012 from the Arizona Animal Welfare League in Phoenix.

We don't know anything about Lily's previous life but she does occasionally display signs of previous abuse. Soon after Lily came home we noticed she was having trouble sleeping, her head was jumpy, her back right leg wouldn't be still, and she was having trouble with balance. We learned that she had had distemper sometime during my life and these were residual neurological effects that would last

her entire life. She was put on medication that controls most of her symptoms. Her back leg almost never stops moving but it doesn't slow her down one bit! Bertha is our senior dog, adopted at the age of 9 ½ in 2016 from Old Souls K9 Rescue in Yuma. Bertha was used as a breeder until she couldn't breed anymore and was then discarded. She spent most her life outside with very little human interaction. Most of her teeth are rotted and worn down, this is why her tongue always sticks out. She suffers from horrible allergies that cause itching and eye drainage, despite being on a grain free diet and taking large doses of Benadryl three times a day. The cats: Xena and Cammo have been her the longest, since 2006. Xena (Nugget) is the alpha of the house. Cammo (Bub) is the lover. C**n who thinks he's a dog was rescued in 2007. Vlaad was rescued in 2013 but doesn't play well with the others.
