The two poor little girls are our newest rescues. An old lady with Alzheimers had them and she has now been taken to a care home. And so the dogs are homeless. The old lady’s family don’t want them, and so we took them in. 🥲
They are in a terrible state, full of fleas and mange, and with sight problems. They were very scared to be taken to the vet.
We have names them Nea and Lillybelle.

Silas is a dog we have posted many times but sadly so far we haven’t found his forever home!😢
Silas is 4.5 years old and weighs around 30 kilos. He is a Greek Shepherd mix with a friendly character.
Silas loves to go on walks outside the shelter and if he can a run!❤️😍
Silas would do well in an active home with a family with the time to take him on long walks. He would also need a home with no other male dogs. 🏚🐶

Two new babies dumped near the shelter yesterday!😡😡😡
The weather is heating up now and abandoning puppies in the countryside could be life threatening for them! Often they are scared and therefore hard to catch. These two little babies however were happy to come running to us when called!❤️😍

In the night or early hours of the morning some idiot decided to throw three small puppies over the fence of the shelter in a bag.😡 When we arrived at the shelter they had got out of the bag and we surrounded by some of our other dogs barking at them. Thankfully they were unharmed, but the outcome could have been very different!
They are two small girls and a boy and are on their way to the vet for a check up.🐶🥰

We posted photos of the gorgeous Neil a couple of days ago, but today we thought you might like to see him in action. He loves to be out and about in the lanes around the shelter and gives whoever is with him plenty of exercise!😂

This sweet little girl was found today on the streets, alone, very tired and scared, and absolutely full of ticks!
She is our Easter rescue! ❤️
She is about 1-2 years old and weighs 4 kilos.
She has been named Gigi!😍
She will of course go straight to the vet for a checkup and to get flea and worm treatment.

Most people when they drive past a cardboard box thrown in a field, don’t think twice about it. But when you are a rescuer in Greece you have to stop to go and check it, because you know it is possible that there are puppies in it. Sadly this was the case when our volunteers spotted this box on a country road near the shelter.😡😢
Six little babies had been abandoned in the box, barely a month old. Who knows how long they had been there! The babies are 5 girls and 1 boy. We always wonder what sort of heartless person could do this!
The babies are safe now and have had a thorough check over from the vet. They were lucky, so many aren’t!

Johnny is one of our favourites at the shelter! He like many has been at the shelter since he was a puppy. Johnny was found on the side of a busy main road where someone had dumped him. How he survived and didn’t get hit by a car is a mystery! He apparently was there for a few months. 😥
Johnny is now 6 years old and although he happily roams around the shelter with his friends, we continue to hope that he will find a forever home!👨👩👦🏚🙏
Johny would do well in a home with no other male dog. He would get on fine with a female. Johny loves to go for a walk on the lead and socialise with people! ❤️

Marius is a friendly, fun loving boy who loves to go out exploring. He is around 2.5 years old and weighs 22 kilos. Marius was found in October 2021 alone in the countryside near the shelter. How could we resist him?😍
Marius would do well in a family who likes the outdoors and could take him on long walks. He is a sociable boy and gets on well with most other dogs.🐶

Today these four young puppies were rescued from a field near the shelter. Sadly they were left there to fend for themselves. Who knows how long they had been hiding there in the bushes. 😢
After being taken into our care they were happy to receive food and water as they were weak with hunger. They are three little boys and a girl, and will soon be off to the vet for a checkup. 😌

Our volunteers stopped and spoke to him and he came running, so grateful to see someone!🥰
He was determined to be rescued and decided to hop in the car. Of course they couldn’t leave him there! He is now safe with us and has been named Keane. ❤️🐶

Athos is a friendly, affectionate boy who was found in September outside the house of one of our volunteers. He is around 18 months old and weighs 18 kilos.

Every day we are shocked by how cruel people are to animals in Greece. This poor boy was found by our team today wandering the streets. He was named Humphrey , and immediately taken to the vet for a good checkup. He only weighed 10 kilos, pitifully thin with his ribs and hip bones showing. 😢
Humphrey is suffering from several tick diseases and had bad wounds and sores on his feet.
We hope that now he is in our care he will start to recover, and of course he will begin treatment immediately for the tick infections.
