New Year, same sad situation, Great Dane Love - A Central Florida Rescue, Inc. is in need of FOSTER FAMILIES!

Despite the holidays, we are receiving more surrender applications than we can place in foster homes. (Not to mention the Danes abandoned and in shelters!) If we do not have a family willing to open up their home to a Dane, we cannot save that dog. It’s as simple as that!

Great Dane Love - A Central Florida Rescue, Inc. will supply food, all medical needs, crates … all of the basics for you to care for your foster. All you need is patience and love.

If you would like to open your home to a Great Dane in need, please complete the foster application:

https://gdlcf.org/foster-application/

Please know that we will do both a vet and a home check.

Meet Delta! ❤️ She's a lovable and energetic pup with a lot of personality! At 11 months old, she has a playful nature and enjoys toys. She also likes all things water and loves snacking on ice cubes. Delta's playful moments are balanced by nap time and she truly values quality time with her people, especially when it involves activities like fetch or snuggling.

Though she can initially be a bit cautious around new people, Delta warms up quickly. She’s great with children, gets along well with other dogs and is vocal when alerting you to visitors or deliveries. Her curiosity shines through in her love for watching squirrels and observing the outside world from the window.

Delta is crate trained and knows basic commands. She adores walks and her leash manners are improving. Delta requires a fenced yard where she can explore and run freely. She has no history with cats.

She is fostered in Titusville and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make her a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Delta or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator at [email protected].

Money is a handsome two year old boy who enjoys cuddling in bed with his people. He has a moderate energy level and loves playing tug. Money is friendly with everyone he meets and enjoys offering a paw as a greeting. He can be a bit too eager for attention and has been known to deliver a playful slap in his quest for love.

He is great with kids and other dogs, but has no history with cats. Money is crate trained and well-mannered in the home, though he does have a tendency to snack on shoes. He is a messy drinker and a heavy drooler, so having towels on hand is a must. He also has dry eyes and requires daily drops for them.

Money knows how to Sit and will occasionally comply with Down. Walks are enjoyable for him and though he may initially pull on the leash, he eventually settles in and likes exploring the neighborhood. Money travels well in vehicles and will require a fenced yard.

He is fostered in Orlando and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Money or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator at [email protected].

Sadie is a spirited and independent 7 month old with an inquisitive nature. She loves to play tug and splash in puddles, especially when they are muddy. She often engages in wrestling matches with her foster siblings, showcasing her playful, high-energy personality. Sadie would definitely benefit from having a large dog buddy who can keep up with her rough-and-tumble style of play. She is not recommended for a home with small dogs or cats.

Sadie thrives in an active household where she can be included in daily activities and outdoor adventures. As she truly flourishes in the presence of her people, she would do best in a home with someone around frequently. She's testing her boundaries a bit and can be a little mouthy when excited. Her foster family is using positive reinforcement and redirection to help her overcome these tendencies. Sadie generally behaves well around children, though she may occasionally jump up in excitement.

She is crate trained and has already mastered several obedience commands. Her leash manners still need a little work and she prefers that her walks be kept short. Sadie is great in the car and loves outings to the beach. She will require a fenced yard.

Sadie is intact and will be adopted on a spay contract. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and on a monthly heartworm preventative. She is fostered in Merritt Island and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make her a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Sadie or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator at [email protected].

Hurley is a handsome 4 year old who thrives on love and companionship. He absolutely adores his people and is happiest in their company. He is an excellent couch snuggler as well as a notorious bed hog. Hurley's quiet time is usually short-lived and then he's off to engage his foster sisters in some boisterous play.

He tends to reflect the energy around him, so a calmer household with someone home frequently is ideal. A large, playful dog buddy would be perfect for him, as it would help channel his liveliness and provide companionship. Despite his roughhousing, he is mindful of smaller dogs and has done well with children age 7 and older. He is also cat friendly.

While Hurley is crate trained, it's not required as he is well-behaved when home alone. He has decent leash manners and enjoys walks. *A 6 foot fence is an absolute must, as he can jump anything lower.* Hurley is fostered in Titusville and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Hurley or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator at [email protected].

Hazel is a playful two year old with a moderate energy level. She loves her plush toys and has a fondness for sticks. Hazel also enjoys spending time outdoors exploring and requires a fenced yard.

She is a shy girl who needs time to settle in and adjust to new environments. Once she’s comfortable, her sweet nature becomes evident. In order for Hazel to thrive, she requires a dog savvy home that will understand her needs, as well as a quiet household with an established routine.

Hazel is fostered with children and enjoys their company. She is also dog friendly, but as with people, will need some time to feel comfortable enough to make friends. Hazel is crate trained and cat friendly. She does enjoy walks, as long as she’s not required to be up close and personal with strangers.

She is fostered in Orlando and is ready for adoption. *As Hazel can be skittish around new people, a couple of visits to get to know her are encouraged.* If you would like to make her a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Hazel or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator at [email protected].

Bruno is a snuggly 7 year old who takes goofiness to the next level. Whether he's catching tossed snacks in mid air, zooming around the yard or just trying to be the center of attention, he always manages to be extremely entertaining.

Bruno is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. He is a social boy and makes new friends quickly. He is also great with children and likes to hang with the 6 year old in his foster home. Bruno loves cats and thinks they are the very best snuggle partners. While he is peacefully fostered with a Lab and Chihuahua, he can be dog selective and reactive on leash. He is likely best as the only dog in the home or possibly with a chill buddy that’s been carefully introduced.

Bruno is crate trained and knows his obedience commands, though he occasionally likes to talk back. He is great in a vehicle, but does need work on his leash manners. He will require a fenced yard. Bruno is fostered in Palm Bay and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Bruno or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator at [email protected].

The adorable Miss Hope is a 7 year old Dane mix with loads of personality. She is an affectionate girl who loves giving kisses and snuggling up in bed with her people. During her more active moments, Hope loves to play with toys and is especially fond of Jolly balls. She also enjoys zooming around the property and requires a fenced yard. Hope is dog friendly and would love having another canine companion to pal around with. She is also great with cats.

Hope is well-behaved in the home and knows her obedience commands. She does have a mild case of megaesophagus, which she has had for years. It's very well managed and she has thrived, living life to its fullest. Hope is fostered in Cocoa and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make her a part of your family, please fill out an application (link below) and submit the processing fee. Parker is a striking 4 year old who tends to be a bit shy when meeting new people. Once he's comfortable, he quickly becomes loving and affectionate. Parker is very playful and tends to bounce around when excited. He is a big fan of toys and likes playing tug. He also enjoys daily zoomies and is a great fetcher.

Parker is best suited for a tranquil household with an established routine. He needs some confidence building and requires a dog savvy owner that can help him reach his full potential. At present, Parker requires an adult-only home, as he finds the exuberance of children a bit unsettling. He must also be the only pet in the home, as he prefers not to share his people or his belongings.

Parker is extremely well behaved and respects boundaries with furniture and rooms. He already knows a number of obedience commands and adores car rides, especially when it includes a stop at the beach. He also has good leash manners and enjoys going on walks. Parker will require a fenced yard.

He is fostered in Orlando and is ready for adoption. If you would like to make him a part of your family, please fill out an application and submit the processing fee. If you have questions about Parker or the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator at [email protected].

Meet Hurley! ❤️ He's an energetic 4 year old who thrives on love and companionship. He absolutely adores his people and is happiest when in their company. While Hurley is an accomplished couch snuggler and the ultimate bed hog, his playful spirit means his quiet time is usually short-lived.
