Today, there are over 25 Stops in twelve different states including Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, with over 50 more Stops opening in the near future. Each Stop is locally owned and operated, but was bred and trained on the original The Dog Stop morals and mission. "Hi. My name is Ernie. My family has a lot of names for me - Big Ern, Ernie the Bernie, and Ernest. Apparently, I was born with a detached retina in one eye...honestly...I have no idea what that means...All I remember is that I could only ever see out of my right eye.

After a year, I had developed glaucoma and the doctor said I had to get my eye removed. Which is good because all that eye was doing for me was causing me headaches and swelling! I didn't really like that. My mom and dad were so worried to send me into surgery not knowing how I felt, but I did my best to be brave for them. When it was all over my mom and dad were there to pick me up. I was so excited to see them I came bounding out of the doctors office toward them...they knew that they helped me and I was fine!

Turns out life is pretty much the same with one eye. Getting the zoomies in our local park in northern Seattle is the best. Going to dog parks with my friends is still my favorite. Peanut butter kongs are still spectacular. And being lazy on the couch with my parents is better than ever. Happy International Blind Dog Day!" 🦮 ❤️ 💛

🐾🌞 Summer's here, and it's heating up! Here are some essential tips and tricks to help your dog beat the heat:

💦 Hydration: Always have fresh, cool water available, especially outdoors or after play.
🐕‍🦺 Limit Exercise: Walk and play in the cooler parts of the day. Protect paws from hot pavement.
🕶️ Shade and Airflow: Create shade with umbrellas or trees. Ensure good ventilation indoors.

We were bred from the beginning to be the best all-inclusive indoor/outdoor dog care facility. The Dog Stop® opened its doors in 2009 after owners Jesse Coslov and Chris Kane spent several years researching the pet care industry, surveying the needs of local pet owners and planning an all-inclusive facility. Their goal is to create a fun and safe environment where dogs would love to come and play, and pet owners would feel 100% confident in the superior care that their dogs were receiving. Everyone needs a mission, so as the first pups were entering the doors, Jesse and Chris made a commitment to their vision for the service. Today that mission and our commitment at both locations remain the same: To deliver a superior experience for the dog and his or her whole family by providing a safe environment, offering educational opportunities, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our clients and their pet companions, instilling complete peace of mind for those we serve—and to earn their trust every day!
