Puppy Cam 5/23/22

Today the puppies had a surprise waiting for them—a little obstacle course with toys and objects they had never seen before. They had to go through a muffin tin, toys, measuring cups and plastic chains to get to the prize: a dish of soft cheese. They all had fun playing with everything after they finished their reward. Most items were blue and yellow. Why? Those are the 2 colors dogs can see.

Did you know that dogs don't see color like we do? If they seem unenthralled with the big, red Kong toy you just purchased, there is a good reason: they only look grey to them. Instead, buy blue and yellow toys that they can see.

Can dogs see color, or are they color blind? Research shows that while dogs can’t see the same colors humans do, they can see some shades and combinations.

Morning puppy cam 4/30/22

Saturday morning chorus
Each morning Mom gets a few moment outside, love and head massages, and a big delicious breakfast. Keeping up with feeding 7 growing puppies is just starting to be a challenge, but it’s necessary that she gets adaquate food and water to keep up the demand. They clearly aren’t too pleased when she’s gone, but they settle down once they know their food supply returns. We’ll be starting the weaning process soon.
