Meet Gracie. When we met 5 months ago, she had just moved to Harmony Equitation Pound farm. Her owner was extremely worried about her, as at 24 she was having recurring bouts of gas colic despite taking measures to reduce these episodes. Gracie was anxious, couldn’t stand still for very long and did not enjoy being touched. She was a ball of nerves and couldn’t settle. Despite having access to constant turn out in a track system and being amongst friends, which certainly helped her behaviour, Gracie was still having colic episodes. So when I assessed her by the means of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, we made a plan for recovery and two acupuncture sessions later Gracie has had not had any colic episodes for the last few months. She is more balanced, less stressed and enjoys human company. She has even started putting healthy amount of weight on and having a shine to her coat! Considering her age, I am extremely happy for her and her owner 🤎
