Reports of an "outbreak" of some as yet unidentified canine respiratory illness are scaring dog owners. But veterinarians and researchers aren't panicking.

Please BOLO for a Red Golden Retriever Puppy that has gone missing from her NEW home near Town Farm Rd. and Hammond Hill Rd. within the hour.

This puppy is new to the area, she has a pink collar on. Trying to obtain a picture.

Please check sheds, garages, under porches, as she may be scared and timid because she doesn’t know the area.

Call Animal Control with any sightings ASAP 508-248-2398.

Remember it is the law to report a found dog!

This male was found around 82 Daniels Rd this morning. He is not a happy camper and would love for his owner to come back and get him soon!

**With the power of FB (and neighbors) we were able to locate the owner of this old barn gal.

Charlton Animal Control has picked up this female cat. Skinny, dirty, and matted. No chip. Found on Turner Rd.

She does have a clipped ear, but very friendly.

**Maya has been located Monday morning, alive, but in very rough shape. Prayers to her and her family and thank you all who helped search and worry about her through these long days.

**6/12/2022** As of today, Sunday, Maya is still missing with no sightings. PLEASE look in your backyards, woods, sheds, barns, areas you don't check often, ponds, swamps, etc., if you are in the area of 28 Stafford St. The owner does not suspect she has gone far. Thank you to all who have helped look so far.

Please BOLO for a 17 year old Husky who is missing in the area of Brookfield and Stafford. Last seen last night in that area.

Maya is old and shouldn’t haven’t gone far, and cannot hear well.

PLEASE check yards, barns, sheds, porches as she could have laid down anywhere.

It’s time for our annual reminder that the high heat of summer can become extremely hazardous for dog paws. This picture is a quick guide to asphalt temperatures, but what about pavement or other surfaces?

There is a simple test in which you can do to check whether a surface is too hot for your pet's paws. The “seven-second test” is easy! Simply touch the walking surface with the back of your hand for seven seconds. If you can’t hold your hand there for the full seven seconds because the surface is too hot, then it’s also too hot for your dog’s paws.

Some quick tips: Walk your pups in the cooler morning or evening air. Play in the grass rather than on the pavement. Invest in socks or shoes to help protect your dogs feet. And moisturizer Fido’s paws frequently just like you would your own skin.

One of my dear customers trapped this girl and the word is she is not feral, is sweet and loving and spayed. If you or someone you knows have some room to adopt, Cali is waiting to be your furever friend.

This Calico cat, who we've affectionately named "Calli," from the Brookfield Road area, is in custody of the Charlton Animal Control.

Calli has been tugging on the heartstrings of neighbors since the spring, bumming food and affection. If unclaimed, Calli will be spay/neutered before it's returned to its territory as a feral or Barn Cat.

Charlton Animal Control does not directly provide adoption of animals; however, if you wish to become an adoptive pet parent, the ACO can assist in putting you in touch with rescue organizations with whom they work.
