A small holding started with my first pony and now grown to include a few special highlands and some Shetland sheep. Youngstock sometimes available.

Kirkconnell Highland Ponies is a hobby which started with my part bred highland mare called Claymore Carragheen from Mull. She came with us to our home and has been with us ever since. She is now retired from active duty and her progeny, Woodside Rannoch is just up the road at a great pony club home. Cara was joined by a young c**t Little Fenwick Rory in 2007 and he made the grade as a registered

Highland Stallion. Clover of Mendick joined the herd and produced two youngsters Maddy and Ossian sired by Rory. Both have moved on to loving highland homes. Rory was gelded and now lives in the Scottish Borders enjoying a great home hacking in the hills. Eildeag of Croila joined the herd last year....watch this space for foals in 2023�

Last week was a very special outing. Woodside Ossian and his dam Clover of Mendick who we have had for 10 years, rode out together at the first rideout of the year.
We were joined by the handsome Woodside Rannoch, the first Woodside foal and only offspring of my very special mare Caragheen. She is still with us at 31 but relaxing in the field at home while at home while all this goes on!

So chuffed to have two of the youngters we bred out with me and increasing the profile of the wonderful highlands.

9 years ago today Woodside Ossian appeared in the world....there have been a few twists and turns with this boy but out with his dam all these years later he is finally getting there!

Clover and Ossian out and about at the first rideout tonight. Ossian coped brilliantly with his first rideout experience thanks to his trusty rider Ellen and having his mum Clover by his side all the way.

Ossian has returned to us and we have been working with him over the winter. Now the weather has settled we have been able to get out a bit more. A hack today taking in The Abbot's Tower. Ossian and his dam Clover of Mendick looking quite at home in the driveway.

My neice Freja put her brave pants on and enjoyed a wee hack with her auntie. Clover was a star and looked after her really well. Swapped to niece Emma half way round so we could have a canter. Thank you Emma MacLean Sinclair and Freja x

Moose has had some time off after he was a bit of a dafty and injured himself in the horse box. Seems all good after some field time so a bit of long reining just today to get him gently back into work for Bex.
