As a pet sitter, I face a hard challenge with my animal clients. I get very attached to each one making it difficult to say good bye when they cross over the rainbow bridge. Today is one of those days. Rest in peace Reo.

Remember to keep your pets inside away from the noise of fireworks. Too pets bolt and get lost around the 4th.

Fourth of July dog party is being planned at my house for my pups. Every time we hear fireworks, we get all excited and pups get treated! Yay!!! Fireworks!!! Yay!!! Try to make it all happy and fun so the dogs associate the loud booms with getting something fun to eat! Another excessive heat warning today. Forecast is to reach 99 degrees. Imagine, if you don't like being out in the heat, does your dog or cat? Keep them inside and safe from the extreme heat.

Please, everyone, take care of your pets in this heat. There is an excessive heat warning today. Be sure and limit your pets' time outside and give them plenty of water. If you can't have them in your house, at least provide them a cool spot in your basement or garage.

I wouldn't hesitate...

It’s illegal to leave a dog in a hot car in our state, but what happens if you see a dog in a locked car? California is considering making it legal to break into a car to rescue an animal. Would you break into a car to get a dog out?

Good rules everyone should stick with.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, with an estimated 70 million dogs living in U.S. households, millions of people -- most of them children -- are bitten by dogs every year. The majority of these bites, if not all, are preventable. Take this opportunity to learn more about dog bite prevention and help educate others.
