Meet Eleanor! She's 5 years old and has a big, quirky, fun personality in a petite little body! She likes to play with toys in spurts (even though she hasn’t quite figured out what to do when you throw them!). She likes balls, kickers, shaker mice, and catnip toys. She has also been known to get the zoomies and chase her own tail. It’s pretty adorable! She loves chasing your hand under a blanket and likes to chat with you in little beeps and mews.
Eleanor is a social girl who likes spending time with you. She would love to find a regular lap to sit on, or legs to sit alongside! These lap sessions can sometimes extend for pretty long periods of time. If you like to read or hang out on the couch watching some TV, she could be the cat for you!
Eleanor came to us emaciated and in poor condition. She’s all healed up, has a clean bill of health, and is ready for a home of her own.
Because we think she didn’t spend a lot of time in the past with a loving family, she will need a little time to adjust. Once she's comfortable, she doesn’t seem to mind the hustle and bustle of a home and isn't easily startled. She can get a little unsure when you pet her for lengthy periods, but don’t take this as her not being affectionate! Once she starts to trust you, she likes belly rubs or having a hand placed on her while she rests on your lap. Because of this we’re recommending she go to a teen or adult only home where they can respect her boundaries and give her time to get acclimated.
Eleanor would be a great companion for someone who works from home, as she likes to sit quietly in your lap or beside your desk while you're working. She may like a cat friend with slow, proper introductions and a good match for her more mellow temperament (she doesn’t want a friend that constantly plays or wrestles). She would also do fine as an only cat with a family that likes to spend a good amount of time with her, but we think she'd prefer a dog-free home.
Eleanor is up to date on all of her shots, spayed, FIV/FELV negative, and microchipped. Eleanor is a great cat and if you can give her just a little time to settle in, she’ll return the favor by warming your lap on these cold nights!
