Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary - Sandi Kean-Casebolt Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary is a 501 c 3 non profit animal sanctuary and forever home for elderly, abused and disabled animals of all types since 1996.

We do not adopt out, and so have no income from the critters that come to live out their lives Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary (DOCAS) is a sanctuary for elderly, abused and disabled animals of all types. When animals come to DOCAS they remain for the rest of their lives. We do not adopt out, thus we have little income from the critters that call this place home. Because of the types of animals t

hat we care for our Veterinary bills run approximately $20,000 per year. If you are interested in making a tax deductible donation donations should be sent to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, 827 Sharon Ave, Moses Lake, WA 98837, or phoned in to 509-765-6794. Pioneer Vet will make a note of your donation, and we will send you a receipt. The animals here have come to us from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, North Carolina, South Carolina, California,Florida, Hawaii and Taiwan. Many of the animals have come from shelters, veterinarians, and other rescue groups. All are loved dearly ! At this time we buy 4 tons of hay per month to feed our rescued horses, llamas, goats and Eeyore the donkey. The cost of the hay comes directly from Dale's paycheck, as we receive no salary or compensation for the work that we do. We are completely family owned and operated, receive no salary or compensation, and have no volunteers. Our EIN is 20-3572229 and our Washington State Charities Program Registration Number is
1478235. If you are a State employee you can donate through your payroll office.

We (Daze of f Camelot Animal Sanctuary) are rescue partners with Tacoma Pierce County Humane Society on the west side of Washington. They often contact us for help with an elderly, abused or disabled critter they have received. On 1/18/25 we received a request for help with a 10 year old Maltese whose owner brought to them for euthanasia due to lack of appetite.
Rowen seemed attentive and happy, and TPCHS felt euthanasia was not an option for him.
Rowen came in with mats all over his body, down to his skin, and a flea infestation. One of the mats had torn away a superficial layer of skin. They suspect he was neglected. He is seemingly healthy other than the matting and periodontal disease. We picked Rowen up yesterday 1/26/25. Rowen’s new dog exam was today, 1/27/25, at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Redding. Blood tests will be evaluated, and a specialized f***l will be sent out to check for more serious internal parasites. His mouth is absolutely horrible. You can smell the infection from across the room. We are waiting for an appointment for this, and once his dental is done we will post the results of all his tests. We are always grateful to Tacoma Pierce County Humane Society for their extreme efforts to save critters that come to them. Over the years we have taken many. Dogs, cats, chickens - just to name a few - all needing extreme medical care. It is because of our followers that support us, and Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, that we are able to help these critters. We do not adopt out and are able to provide help because of donations.

If you would like to help us with the medical bills for Rowen please mail or phone a donation IN ANY AMOUNT to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, 827 Sharon Ave., Moses Lake, WA 98837 (509)765-6794 or donate here

Some of you might remember four years ago March when we (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) rescued Bella from her owner. She had been running down Road 7 NE in Moses Lake, covered in blood. Because we had seen her before, we knew where she lived, and stopped by to talk to her owner. He stood in the yard with 2 young children eating corn dogs, and proceeded to tell us that he had shot her in the head 3 times, but she just wouldn’t die. As the children stood there he told us he was going to take a hammer to her head and beat her to death. He signed a release and Bella came home with us. Two bullets went through her skull, and fragments of one remain. Bella is a loving girl who we immediately had spayed. She gets along with her two pack mates and enjoys life. Bella is “not all there” as the bullets impacted her brain function. Fast forward 4 years to January 2025. Bella is displaying a lot of drool and is screaming in pain several times during the day and nights. Dr. Redding at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic was unable to look in her mouth today, 1/25/25, without causing extreme pain, and so Bella will be scheduled for further X-rays of her head and mouth while under anesthesia. Meanwhile she will be receiving constant pain medication. We are in great hopes that the problem can be remedied in some manner. We will post an update once the results are in. Meanwhile we are asking that you send prayers and light for Bella. She is a good, good girl and we love her.
If you would like to help us with the medical bills for Bella please mail or phone a donation IN ANY AMOUNT to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, 827 Sharon Ave., Moses Lake, WA 98837 (509)765-6794 or donate here

This little dog was abandoned at night in the freezing cold in one of our local towns. It was taken in for the night and then taken to a Hands N Paws rescue volunteer the following day. We are naming the dog LittleBit. As LittleBit is an older dog in need of dental and medical care Hands N Paws contacted us, Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary, asking if we would accept the dog. Of course we said yes. Once the legal holding period was up LittleBit was signed over to us. At this point it is unable to eat dry food and has a very difficult time eating canned food. It is not receptive to having the mouth looked at, and we are certain all of this is due to a dental issue. LittleBit is resting comfortably with us and has an appointment Monday 1/27/25 with Dr. Redding at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic. Because of LittleBit’s age we will have a full blood panel run. This will check for kidney and organ functions to help ensure anesthesia is safe for a dental. We are sure LittleBit will be scheduled for a dental after the visit.

If you would like to help us with the medical bills for LittleBit please mail or phone a donation IN ANY AMOUNT to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, 827 Sharon Ave., Moses Lake, WA 98837 (509)765-6794 or donate here

We (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) received a donation of a pallet of liquid laundry soap today , 1-15-25. We are in the process of sharing it with other local rescues. We gave 24 boxes to Grant County Animal Outreach immediately. Hands N Paws will be stopping by tonight to get some. Shawna Kluge / Rock Bottom Rocker Pet Pantry will be by tomorrow, and we are hoping to get some to Black Rock Rescue.
As we do 6 loads of laundry EVERY DAY, 365 DAYS A YEAR we will be keeping some for ourselves. This was a true blessing, and we have always believed that blessings are meant to be shared.

Dale and I have just set up a Scholarship at Big Bend Community College to honor Peny Archer. This was established with our personal funds. Automatic Monthly donations to this scholarship will be made from our personal funds and NOT from any funds received by Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary. Peny passed away yesterday.
Peny began as a volunteer at the Community Services Food Bank in 2000, and as an employee in 2001. Until 2 weeks ago Peny serviced 50 food banks in the eastern Washington, ordering and having food delivered to each location. Thanksgiving food giveaway, and toys for children every year were carried out by Peny. With assistance from Chris Hansen she had the years long task of building the new distribution center.
Peny and her husband Rich Archer were instrumental in forming the Sand Scorpions in 1990. The Sand Scorpions have been a desert rescue group , and extremely instrumental in keeping the sand dunes both safe and clean as a result of the tens of thousands of off roaders that frequent it every year. Peny coordinated the annual Easter egg hunt in the dunes that brought thousands of local children every year.
Peny has been instrumental in serving the community for decades. She was never too busy to help. Her legacy will be continued through the scholarship that has been set up in her name at Big Bend Community College, and will help a student every year. You can make a donation to Peny’s scholarship fund here. No amount is too small

Kirby Snerbelltron arrived (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) about 10 years ago. She was an adult at the time but wasn’t spayed. That was resolved immediately 😊. Kirby has remained an outdoor kitty in good health. She is deaf, and spends most of her time curled up in a bed sleeping. Just after Christmas 2024 Kirby stopped eating and didn’t look good. A trip to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic and a full blood panel revealed that her red blood count was very low. She is on 2 different medications. A second blood test to check her red blood count was done 1/2/24 and showed no change. 1/4/24 she returned for another FULL blood panel. Her blood count had actually dropped a little and another medication was added. She will return in 4 days for more bloodwork.
We have been able to get her to start eating Senior BISQUE Delectables, and diced steamed chicken breast. She is remaining an indoor girl in a large medical cage at this time, and doesn’t seem to object at all!!
If you would like to help us with the medical bills for Kirby please mail or phone a donation IN ANY AMOUNT to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, 827 Sharon Ave., Moses Lake, WA 98837 (509)765-6794 or donate here

We (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) would like to thank Pawsitive Alliance in Bellevue, WA for once again sending prescription food for so many of our special needs dogs and cats yesterday (1/2/25). We are so very blessed by their thoughtfulness and generosity. And thank you Sheri DeRam from ARFS for delivering it to us in the pouring rain!

UPDATE: He left for Rainbow Bridge about 30 minutes ago at midnight. He is Free now. He was warm and loved.
If you saw the post today, 12/30/24, asking for help for this kitty that wandered into a yard in the Peninsula area, we (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) have him. Vet office was closed so we have him at home. He is very, very sick. Terribly dehydrated and fighting for his life. We have given him sub Q fluids, AmoxiClav and Terramycin. We have told him about Rainbow Bridge in case he can’t make it through the night to get to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic. He could use some prayers please.

29/12/2024

Every Christmas for innumerable years we (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) have adopted an elderly, abused or disabled critter from a shelter in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho within a few days of Christmas. We are full, just like all other rescues right now, but it is Christmas and the ones we seek are vulnerable and at risk in shelters due to so many people dumping old family critters to make room for new puppies and kittens. Although we had a dog earmarked in Moses Lake, he was blessed to be adopted and has a home of his very own. Because we believe that God works in mysterious ways we adopted a cat and a dog. Both are very old and both were living with homeless people in some of the surrounding communities. We paid for both of them, and their humans were sad to say yes to our offers, but they cared enough for the critters to bid them goodbye. Winter is coming and they knew they would be vulnerable at their ages. And so we have carried on with another Christmas tradition at Daze of Camelot. We hope that the holidays have been happy for you, and that the new year will bring you good health and happiness!

MARI UPDATE 12/18/24: Mari came to us (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) in early October 2024 from Best Friends of Baker in Oregon. Her new dog exam at that time at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic showed that she is in kidney decline, which is typical in older dogs and cats. Her bloodwork cleared her for anesthesia for a dental in a few months with a blood recheck at the time. Mari had her dental today at Pioneer Veterinary Clinic , along with her follow up blood test. Her dental went well and she didn’t need any teeth removed! Her bloodwork showed further kidney decline and she will now be on a strict kidney diet. Although we will incorporate a small amount of canned KD into her meals we will be opting for a holistic homemade recipe that we will use on our other 3 kidney dogs. They will be eating white rice, diced skinless chicken breast, a splash of canola oil, omega 3 liquid, a touch of iodized salt, and a tiny amount of canned KD mixed in. We feel this will be healthier than specialized kibble and canned food. The cost for Mari’s dental and bloodwork today was $575.
If you would like to help us with the medical bills for Mari please mail or phone a donation IN ANY AMOUNT to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, 827 Sharon Ave., Moses Lake, WA 98837 (509)765-6794 or donate here

You might recall little 15 year old Sparky that came to us (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) November 24, 2024 along with her 15 year old kitty sister who were going to lose their home and face a devastating end two days later. In addition to being deaf and having cataracts Sparky’s blood panel showed that she has several medical issues that require specialized food for her kidneys and Denamarin for her liver malfunction for the remainder of her life. But she was cleared for receiving an anesthesia for a dental. You could smell her rotten teeth from across the room. Today (12/9/24) Sparky had her much needed dental. She lost 13 teeth - many of which had roots that had rotted away over the years. Sparky has adjusted well to her new home with us and has become a loving member of our family. And she has adjusted to her new diet. She is now in her forever home with us. The cost for Sparky’s medical so far is $1,134.74. This does not include her special food (KD) or Denamarin.

If you would like to help us with the medical bills for Sparky please mail or phone a donation IN ANY AMOUNT to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, 827 Sharon Ave., Moses Lake, WA 98837 (509)765-6794 or donate here

15 year old Bobby came to us (Daze of Camelot Animal Sanctuary) 11/6/24 after his owner passed away and he was left without a home. Dogs can be rehomed quite easily at any age. We have received them at 20 years old old and they have done well. The same does not hold true for cats. When a cat has spent this many years with one owner rehoming becomes questionable. It is not unusual for them to shut down, refuse to eat, and choose to die. When Bobby arrived he was full of purrs, ate fairly well and was very social. A few days later his appetite waned and we started supplementing his meal with force fed AD. Then he stopped drinking water and we administered sub-q fluids. It became apparent that there was a medical problem and we took Bobby to Pioneer Vet where Dr. Redding ran extensive blood work. Bobby has pancreatitis. Bobby spent 6 days in the hospital. He began eating on day 5. He is on a specialized diet, antibiotics, anti nausea meds and pain meds. He will remain on a special diet and pain meds forever. Pancreatitis causes pain. We hope to be able to
provide a few more years of comfortable life for Bobby. The bill for his care is $1,043.22.
If you would like to help us with the medical bills for Bobby please mail or phone a donation IN ANY AMOUNT to Pioneer Veterinary Clinic, 827 Sharon Ave., Moses Lake, WA 98837 (509)765-6794
