Though they're gone, we honor them here and move forward with Joey Danger plus recent additions, Jerry, Laddi and "honorary pug" Molly. It all started with a pug we gave our daughter when she graduated high school. When she left for college, Tenshi (RIP) stayed with us and that was the beginning of our “pug collection”! Next came Soba (RIP) who was our first “rescue” pug. He became known around he
re as “OP” (other pug) until he was joined by Darmha (RIP). Darmha had been abused in her “pre-rescue” life and she stole our hearts with her cuteness. We were glad to have made her life easier in her last years. Always up for adventure (or a fight!) she lived up to that name every day. We got by with three until Ginger saw Tootsie (RIP) and Tinkerbell (RIP) on a Pug rescue page. Love at first sight brought these sisters to us. When we traveled away from home, all five were with us (we have the hairy car seats to prove it!) In the summer of 2018 both Tootsie and Soba passed away at 16 and 17 respectively. In the summer of 2019, Tenshi died at 16. Then in November, 2019, the last of our pugs, Jaki and Tinkerbell, both 16, passed away within a week of each other. We continue to maintain our page, “5 Pugs”, in honor of those who’ve departed but are not forgotten. As of April, 2020, we are “foster failures”, welcoming Joey Danger (aka Joey da’ pug) into our family. He’s a trooper at 10 years and loves to hike and camp with us.
